Sleep time is incorrect

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

As of today, my sleep time  has erroneously  added 3 hours extra on every night going back months.

If I click on sleep the graph is correct, but the line item is incorrect by 3 hours.  Bizarre!

Hi @ghauckmt. Welcome on board!

I'm sorry that your sleep time was recorded incorrectly, and thanks for bringing this to my attention. Just to confirm, is this happening on the Fitbit app or in your fitbit.com dashboard? If it's on the Fitbit app, let me know your phone's model and OS version Also, take a screenshot showing your sleep information and the graph and share it with me. For instructions to attach a picture in your reply, check this post.

I look forward to your reply.

I have the same issue as of today. All my sleep times now show related goal time rather than actual. It is still OK on the web dashboard on my tablet. The graph on my phone app still looks right.

Hi @dmkcob. It's nice to have you on board! I'm sorry for my delayed response.

Thanks for letting me know that you're having the same behavior with your sleep details. I've verified that your Samsung Galaxy J3 is a supported device, and to further investigate could you please confirm if the Fitbit app is updated to the latest version? Also, since you mentioned that the issue is with the sleep time, do you refer that the awake or restless times aren't correct? I'd appreciate if you could take a screenshot of the information that is displayed in your account and attach it in your reply.

Keep me posted.

The app latest update was Sept 19, 2019. The problem has corrected itself,
but it did that once before.

I have an Inspire HR; previously had Alta.  The issue I have is with the sleep time.  Here is my problem.

I fall asleep at 9:30 pm on Wed.  I sleep for two hours and wake up.  I cannot get back to sleep so I read on my kindle until 2 am (Thursday).  I fall asleep at 2 am and wake up at 6 am.  My sleep tracking shows only the sleep from 2 am until 6 am; does not show the actual time I fell asleep on Wednesday...only shows Thursday time.  I didn't have this problem with my Alta.  How can I get this to show REAL sleep time.

Thank you. It seems to have corrected itself but now it isn't tracking my exercise and I can't add anything as the plus sign is missing. Another glitch??

mine has not corrected itself.  This is my third fitbit and I have never had a problem with any others.  I hear Garmin makes a great product....I may have to go that route

Hi @ghauckmt and @dmkcob, I'm glad to see you here again. @crackerb, welcome to the Forums. I'm sorry for my delay and let me continue helping you.

@ghauckmt, I'm glad that everything is working fine after the update and I hope you can continue crushing your steps!

@dmkcob, thanks for keeping me updated and it's great that you're able to get your sleep records. About your inquiry, do you mean that your exercises aren't being recognized? Also, please provide me with the model of your Fitbit device. In the meantime, I'd suggest to restart your Fitbit device and adjust the time set for your exercises in the Fitbit app. Make sure your exercises last longer than that time so they can be logged in the Fitbit app.

In regards to the (+) sign missing from the Fitbit app, our team received feedback from our users that were having this issue. This was unusual and for that reason they worked to get it resolved. If you're not seeing that sign, make sure the Fitbit app is updated to the latest version so you can receive the fix.

@crackerb, thanks for the information provided. I know how you're feeling about your Alta not recording your sleep correctly, and I'm sorry that you're having this experience. Our Fitbit devices were designed to record sleep data after 1 hour of inactivity, because that didn't happen I'd recommend to restart your Alta to refresh its performance. Then wear your Alta on your other wrist making sure it's not too loose or tight as described in this help article.

By the way, I've moved your post to the Android board to keep our forums organized, and so you can receive more related responses about this situation.

I'll be around, keep me posted.
