Slow response with access to Food within Fitbit App

Response time is really slow using the Food function within the Fit Bit app on my Samsung S8+.   When I initiate the Food function from the app it takes several seconds (enough time for my screen to go into sleep mode at times)  to display data.  I like the functionality, but really frustrated with the response time.  The other functions within the Fit Bit app display right away when initiated.   I have a Nexus 8 tablet (older technology) and the Food function displays just as quickly as the other Fit Bit app functions.  Is there a setting I should change on my mobile to increase response time.  Slow response occurs whether I'm on WIFI or using the AT&T mobile network.

Hi there @KimbertonBob, welcome aboard to our Fitbit Community! I've seen this issue only once and it was happening with the Windows phone platform and even here the issue was resolved with app previous updates of the Fitbit app. In your case we are talking this is an Android and I've seen other similar reports.

Make sure your app is stored or installed in the internal memory of your phone. Sometimes having the app in the internal storage of the phone increase the response time of certain functionalities of the app.

The other suggestion you can try is the following:

Please log out from your Fitbit app and go to your phone settings. Access to the App manager option and look for the Fitbit app in your downloaded apps list. Once you are there, clear the app cache and data and proceed to "Force Stop" the app. Finish the workaround by restarting your phone. When your phone has initialized, go back to your app and try again.

Give it a try and let me know how it goes. I'll be giving follow up to this issue.

a Just to confirm...forcing a stop and clearing the cache works well. Thank you!
