Welcome to the forums @Vicxm
Flights of stairs only count if you're going up, not down. I know if I hold the railing while going up the stairs, it won't always count it.
Have you tried doing a restart of the device? It's similar to rebooting a mobile device or computer. Just hold in the button while it's on the charger unit until it flashes and shows the firmware version.

@Vicxm One more thing to consider is the height of your staircase that you are traveling. Fitbit only records a gain of 10 feet of elevation as a flight of stairs so if your staircase is shorter than that it wouldn't record it. Hope that helps!

@Vicxm Did @Odyssey13's suggestion of a restart work for you? Also, keep in mind what @smhermione said as to the change in elevation. This is why Fitbit trackers do not count the elevation gains simulated from a StairMaster, inclined treadmill, or other stationary exercise equipment. Your Charge HR uses changes in barometric pressure to detect elevation change, and therefore requires that you physically change elevation at for at least 10 feet in order to properly record floors. Hope this helps to clarify things. Keep me posted.

Have a new Charge 3 with the same problem. Old house with high ceilings and it often doesn't record any stairs even when i go from basement to top. I am wondering if its because the stairs are a squared spiral shape so there is little horizontal motion (6 feet maybe). Doesnt explain why sometimes it counts and sometimes it doesnt. It catches maybe 20% of the stairs in the house and i havrnt been able to figure out a pattern to when it registers. Maybe we need a way to edit stairs (like we can sleep) since it doesnt count correctly. Quite disappointing tbh.
