Got an Ionic for Christmas. It seems to be adding steps to my count whether I am moving or sitting. I usually crochet or am a restless sitter. Could this be the problem. It added nearly 2000 steps while I watched tv and read on my phone, which is an Android system phone.

Being worn on the wrist, it can interpret some arm movements as steps, especially regular rhythmic movements such as knitting or crocheting. Depending on your movements, maybe you would get fewer false steps wearing it on the other wrist.  Some people use that as a good time to charge your device.
