Hello @Endingupketo! It's great to have you on the Fitbit Forums.

There are different reasons why this could be happening. I'd like to ask you some question to better determine what could be happening:

  • If some sort of air current is hitting the tracker it could cause the Fitbit to think you are moving around.
  • Is it too hot or cold in the night? That could cause you to move around a lot in your sleep.
  • Or if there were any bugs or mosquitoes that were bothering you while you slept causing you to wave your hands around. That could also be interpreted as walking.

If none of these reasons could've caused your tracker to count steps, please let me know and I'll investigate further.

Hi there, it's been happening to me as well for last few nights my fitbit has registered that I've walk one hundred to two hundred + steps each night.

Hello @SunsetRunner! Welcome to the Forums.

Have you checked if any of the possible causes I mentioned above could be making the tracker think you're walking?

In the meantime, you could manually log a Driving activity to your app. The driving activity can overwrite the steps that you got so that they no longer show up in your totals. To do that, please follow these steps:

  1. Open the app and then select the exercise tile.
  2. Tap the stopwatch that shows at the top right corner of the screen.
  3. It should get you the option to look for activities. Enter 'Driving' and then look for the activity that should come up.
  4. Select it, then set the time frame for the steps that you'd like to delete and then tap on 'Log It'.

I hope you find this useful! Let me know if you have any questions.

Have you eliminated the possibility that you are sleep walking? Sorry, someone had to ask the obvious. Man Wink

Hey @TwoBit!

That is definitely a possibility. I do recall some instances where I have seen people sleep walking and that caused them to get lots of steps.

Feel free to let me know if there are any more questions.
