Steps not updating based on date in the Fitbit app

So through out the day, I have attempted to sync my Fitbit to my app.  But the problem is the app continues to show yesterday's information from the last sync.  It says today, but shows more than 11K in steps when today I have yet to do 7K.  This is a bit annoying.  I have rebooted my phone, my fitbit and even recharged it to make sure and still get the same results.  I am traveling tomorrow and need the sync to work so my time updates as I change timezones.  So any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks,

Andhanni

Hello there @Andhanni, I was reading your post regarding the steps from a previous day keep showing throughout the next, increasing your overall step count. This can only happen when the timezone is not properly configure, but in this case you know all about this already.

If you travel frequently or you need to change timezones, the best to do before, is to sync your current step count and modify your timezone until the step count has reset to zero. In rare occasions your tracker will extend the time and the step count can accumulate to the next day.

You can tell this behavior by looking in to your tracker step count. If the amount of steps is not normal when you just have woke up, is because your steps were not reset during midnight.

If the issue continues regardless of the timezone, try to perform a restart on your tracker: How do I restart my Fitbit device?

As a quick note, make sure to keep updated your Fitbit app for Android. There is a new version that will improve the stability of the app. For more details please refer to this post.

See you around and let me know if you have other questions.
