Surge notifications not working since Samsung Galaxy S6 software upgrade

Notifications were working fine until Samsung updated its software.  now Surge does not show notifications.  I tried rebooting the Surge to no effect.  Any suggestions?

A warm welcome to the Community @Pique1. Thanks for troubleshooting this issue by yourself. If your tracker is not receiving notifications, I recommend following @MarreFitbit's instructions in the My tracker isn't receiving notifications post.
