Received my replacement Surge a few days ago. No change in the problem. Still, the Bluetooth device doesn't play well with other connected devices. How can that be possible in 2016? Almost 2017..My other trackers work flawlessly. Fitbit Surge? Pathetic. I've been through the troubleshooting list more times than I'm willing. They need to issue a recall on this garbage.

@stringbob I recommend going into your "Applications" folder and searching for an app called Bluetooth Share. Once you've found that, select it and clear the cache and cookies as well as app data. Once that's been done, pair the Surge again by following these instructions. Let me know if that helps to get you setup and syncing successfully.

Could it be you're trying to pair it with an incompatible phone? I ask because I've had a Surge for 19 months now and have had no such issues.

When I unpair everything on my compatible Samsung Note 5, the FitBit syncs.
When I add stuff back on, it may or may not sync. It's like the Surge has
to be the only guy in the stable. I installed a BT manager that's supposed
to place the Surge front & center when the app opens. Sounds like a good
fix, but nope. If I cycle power to the phone's bluetooth, the Surge shoots
to the top of the list but still doesn't always sync. If I reboot the
watch, it works for a little while.
I dunno. There's something on the phone that fitbit doesn't like. What's
interesting is my Smartwatch 3 and Gear Fit 2 have zero issues, ever.
It might very well be a phone issue. My wife and I both have Surges; mine pairs to my Moto X even when it's tied to my bluetooth ear piece or the bluetooth in our cars. My wife has an iPhone 6 and hers pairs equally as well regardless of whatever else the phone is connected to.

Following Erik's recomendation, I haven't had a single issue in several hours. Major success! Thank you for your help!
