2 Devices

  • 1 Charge HR
  • 1 Zip

1 Fitbit account that is linked to my employer sponsored Vitality account

Samsung Galaxy Note 7

Spoiler

For a long time, I used only the Fitbit Charge HR. It sync'd quickly and accurately to the Fitbit app on my phone. I recently added a Zip to the account so our combined exercise was credited to my Vitality account. After adding the Zip, syncing is awkward (sometimes happens--sometimes doesn't). When it does happen, our combined steps appear on BOTH devices. If I do this mid day, our individual counts are incorrect on each device.

One other interesting behavior is that the Fitbit app combines both devices' data into the main dashboard. I see that there are two devices connected to  the app, but, I cannot drill into the details of each one separately.

Is there a way to see steps, calories and other data separately on the apps's dashboard or will they always be combined?

Is there a way to improve syncing when two devices are connected to one phone?

@TonyBee welcome to the forums! Well, in this case I recommend syncing your trackers separately. It has happened to me with my Charge HR and Flex. I don't wear both at the same time, but for instance after wearing my Charge HR all day and I sync it with my Flex nearby I get a certain discrepancy. So, what I do is that I sync the tracker I've been wearing all day and leave the other tracker out of a 15-20 ft range.

Now, adding more than one Fitbit tracker to your account gives you the convenience of switching between trackers while still seeing a holistic view of your daily activity on your dashboard. However, it will only give you one Dashboard for your two trackers. Keep in mind that wearing a combination of trackers simultaneously does not provide any more features than wearing trackers individually. If you're interested in wearing more than one tracker at once so you can compare their data, you can do so by creating a separate account for each tracker. If your account has multiple trackers and you forget to take one off before putting on another, rest assured your dashboard will reconcile the overlapping data to present the most accurate information possible on your dashboard. However, the more overlapping data that exists on your account, the more likely it is that your dashboard's accuracy will suffer. For best results, do not wear more than one tracker at a time and sync each tracker before taking it off and putting on another.

Hope this makes sense. Let me know if you have any other question, I'll be around! Cat Very Happy
