I bought my wife a fitbit for Christmas, and she was pleased with it. Two weeks later it stopped syncing after the update. She is still charging it up, as it is usefully still being her alarm clock (albeit to times needed during school holidays).
Given that her Samsung S3 mini, our son's Samsung Fame, and my LG Google Nexus 4 are all unsupported by the current edition of the app, how do I go about getting the previous version of the app, so we can go back a level on her phone to when it was working.
For future updates, is it not worth having the app check if a phone meets the requirements before carrying out the update and rendering an app inoperative? Surely an old app that works is better than a new one that doesn't?
I look forward to helpful replies.

Hi there @MatthewC1972, nice to have you and your wife here in the Fitbit Community! I was reading she is experiencing issues to sync the tracker after the update.
There are reports the new version is causing issues to sync but this is limited for Android users with version 8.0 as you can see in the following thread: Syncing issues since 2.64 Android app update. Although a new version started rolling out since yesterday, so I recommend to install the new version if is already available in your Google Play store.
As long the new update was install, is not possible to downgrade the app to a older version. About your questions I appreciate the feedback and note that every update is to improve the Fitbit experience. Nonetheless, I would like to recommend the following thread that might be of your help: Having trouble syncing? (here's how to fix this).
Hope this helps and let me know if you have additional questions.

It started working again, for which my wife gave me the credit. I protested that I hadn't changed anything, and she says that she had auto-update turned off, so it's a mystery why it's working now when it didn't before.
