Syncing issues after update

I want to see how many of us are in this community. They can't lie to us all about this in a single thread of people still having this same issue.

 

At this point it's ridiculous.

My problem only started last week it had been working fine up until then.

Back in early/mid August, my Alta stopped syncing completely. Since I earn $5 worth of points to turn in for gift cards (my insurance company), this was SO disturbing as I would be losing my benefit for just using the Fitbit and walking daily!

 

I contacted Fitbit by email, was given a sequence to force the Alta to sync. It didn't work. I then contacted Customer Service by on-line chat and went through a good half hour of trying things to get it to sync. It didn't work. I next contacted CS by phone and went through all of this again. It didn't work. Finally, I deleted my FB and App, reinstalled everything. It didn't work. 

 

After all the jumping through hoops, all of a sudden, it started syncing once a day at about 11:55 pm. That lasted about 3 weeks, then no syncing. I had at that point decided to ditch my FB and get a product that also worked with my insurance but before I did that, my FB started syncing again. It was doing pretty well for a time but in the last 3-4 days, it didn't sync. 

 

I had an email to rate the FB app and to say the least, it was NOT a good rating. I would have given it zero stars but that was not an option. My FB had not synced for those 3-4 days but this morning, It synced and all of the last 3-4 days was updated.

Hi thank you for that but i took my fitbit back to the store and they also tried everything too but it wouldnt work so they gave me a full refund and now i am looking elsewhere for a smartwatch compatible with a samsung phone. Pretty lousy service actually from fitbit , i wouldnt recommend their watches to anybody and their customer service is appalling. Almost uncontactable !!

Ummm, how there be a best answer from August when so many are still not working?  Who marked it as best? It did not solve my problem. My zip is now synching ok to my samsung 9 phone. Fitbit app 3.7 just installed itself 2 days ago, I think.  Too late for me as I recommended and bought a garmin viofit for my sister and garmin 235 for another sister.  All because fitbit did not acknowledge the issue as real and gave no timeline for a fix (for a real problem, sometimes acknowledged but never by "corporate."  )Sheesh.

Totally ridiculous! My Fitbit last synced on October 2... and today out of
nowhere the time is off by 33 minutes.. I've tried turning it off and on
SEVERAL times every day to no avail... soooooo very disappointed!

Tried backdating to 2.88 but can't seem to Gerry it in synch.I must be
doing something wrong. After a month my charge 3 was in synch but as the
day progressed everything went way off. It's so sad.. I had a spark of
hope with this now useless watch on my wrist.

Hi Everyone - an update on my Fitibit problems and solutions:

Phone - OnePlus 6T - Android v 9

Fitbit App was 3.5 Beta - is now 3.7 Beta

Charge 3 - latest firmware patch

 

I had a lot of the problems that you guys are all seeing and was getting nowhere with support as they kept going on about the phone wasn't supported - even though it had worked perfectly since I bought it. So I switched to using a supported device - Ipad Mini - where the problems were exactly the same.

So the problem with my device was that the firmware upgrade that I installed on my original device broke it - no doubt about that - it was NOT the Android app or the phone.
So Fitbit sent me a replacement unit which worked perfectly with the above phone and App - previous and new version. It has continued to do so since - it also syncs perfectly with the Ipad Mini - where it didn't before.
My advise to anyone having these syncing problems - do all your testing with a supported device - borrow a friends if you don't have one - as it rules out that as a potential issue - as it had nothing to do with my issue. My Fitbit was bricked by the firmware update.


Hope this helps others get their issues sorted - by all means reply if I can help anyone - but I genuinely now feel chasing the App for a solution is probably the wrong direction. We all felt it might be that - but I have proved it was not.

I had a chat again with them yesterday, and they are telling me that my
device is supported which is the same as your OnePlus 6. I couldn't get
anywhere again.... I will try to take it back to the place I bought it
from. I hope they will give me a refund or something. 😞

I had this issue too. Sent versa back and had a new one , still same issue ,

I use android one in phone .

Solved it by uninstalling  app. The reinstall old version app. And has worked great since .

Found a file on playstore , 

App called 

Sync fix for Fitbit / Huawei phones by czandor. On the alternative section .

Maybe Fitbit could offer a link to old app or fix bugs as the latest version must have a bug. Hope this helps.

Omg I couldn't download the app but it did some fix and it's stable for the
longest it's been for 2 months I hope it will stay like this. I literally
had everything together to take it back when I read your post.

Update from me:

 

Phone: Honor View 10

Fitbit app: latest and greatest

Charge 2 firmware: latest and greatest

 

I've had my fitbit 3 years. It didn't work great with the Honor phone from the start - dodgy syncing, not very reliable pairing with GPS, GPS distance always too short. And then we had the firmware muck up and it wouldn't sync or pair at all for a while. Then there was another update that seemed to do nothing until I followed the instructions to reboot my fitbit and re-pair it with the Android app. Since this time the sync and GPS pairing has been more reliable than it has ever been, still the odd manual sync request but generally the 'always on' setting is doing it's thing. Interestingly the GPS tracking is now far more accurate. I've been using Bluetooth headphones and that isn't interfering with things anymore, with the duff firmware they would break everything.

 

So thankyou fitbit, it's much better than it was and I'm pretty happy overall.

After the last update I had the same problem I cannot sync sleep pattern and the heart rate I called customer service and they try to sell me and you Fitbit.

I had my Alta HR for less than 6 months before the update made it useless.  I am beginning to think they don't care at all.  It worked great before the update.

I took mine back yesterday and bought a Samsung watch. 😱 Couldn't deal
with it any longer.

Codfather, the firmware might be the issue for some fitbits but I have a Flex which had not had a firmware update at all and was working fine prior to the app update in August. As soon as the update happened the sync issues started so the app is definitely a big part of the problem.
