Syncing issues with brand new surge

I just received my brand new fitbit surge today. I've had several fitbits before with no syncing issues. The display clock will not show, I can't see the steps, distance ect either. I have tried everything to get it to sync and nothing has worked!

Hi there @SunsetRunner, let me start by giving you a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community! The Clock face is one of the primary screens of the Fitbit Surge follow by the Steps and other stats. so I'm wondering if you have already paired your tracker to your current account?

 

If your tracker is not connecting with your app due to set up problems this post will provide you some extra help.
