Hi, l have just purchased the Fitbit Alta HR. My Samsung Galaxy tab android dates back to 2014 using the version 4.4.2. I have tried numerous times to use bluetooth to connect but it doesn't work. My phone HTC is roughly the same age and again it doesn't work. Does anyone have any suggestions please?

I have a computer at home with Windows 10 and after a bit of research l  picked up a bluetooth device from Amazon (£8.99) which after a few minutes managed to work and my Fitbit is now registered. I will use this device to track my activities.

Hello @Jacqueline07, good to see you here in the Fitbit Community and glad to see you got for yourself a Fitbit Alta HR.

The first step to guarantee the functionality of your tracker is to review our list of compatible devices to see if the models of your mobile devices are listed as compatible.

Once we have covered that your phone is compatible, proceed to download the latest version of the Fitbit app from the Google Play store. (Note: Depending of the version of Android OS, it might be possible the last version of the Fitbit app is not longer supported, for this it would be require to update the OS of the mobile device if the manufacturer allows further updates).

Once the app is installed, it is time to set up your tracker. For this the following video will guide you through all the necessary steps.

If by any chance you are not able to go through and it's showing an error or the set up process was not successful, the following troubleshooting steps will do the trick:

  1. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone; wait 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  2. Try setting up your device again.
  3. Turn your Fitbit device off and back on using the instructions in How do I restart my Fitbit device?
  4. Try setting up your device again.
  5. If you can't set up after a restart, reboot your phone or tablet (turn it off and then back on).
  6. Try setting up your device again.
  7. If you can't set up after the reboot, try uninstalling and reinstalling the Fitbit app.

For more details in depth feel free to visit the following article: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

I've tried to compile for you all the necessary information from start to end, so I hope this helps. See you around!

Once again, you cannot hide behind the "device compatibility list"

Huwaei has a HUGE market slice in mobile appliances, they sell cell phone to the masses, and still, there are severe sync issues with those phones and our fitbit (a Charge 2 in my case)

I've got 2 phone now with me. An old Samsung S3, capable of syncing, and a shiny, brand new Mate 10 Lite from Huawei, who PAIRS with EVERY device BUT my FitBit Charge 2.

Seriously, this is SICK for me, but even more for you. You are unable to sell a working device to at least 20% ppl having a so-called """""""""non-supported device""""""" (with a standard bluetooth stack behind!!)

I gave you my trust and therefore my money, i buyed myself a Charge 2. Now I deserve some tech explanations.

I want to know if there are any hopes or not. Is that simple?

Can this community know the state of works/investigations about this issue?

Thanks.
