My fitbit app wouldn't work with my new Samsung Galaxy S7 (Marshmellow) due to syncing issues. I just reset my fitbit (plug it into laptop/wall charger and hold button on left side for approx 10seconds until fitbit symbol appears, then unplug it). App worked instantly! 🙂

@joggerncyclist if i read you right it sounds like your more conerned about not getting notifacations than being able to sync i suggest scrolling up and looking at the troubleshooting hints. It really should sync.. Support could help with this if you don't want us to try.

Seriously? I just bought the Blaze, it won't even do the initial update. The S7 is not a supported device? What absolute trash... return...

I don't know about the S7 edge but with 3 friends and the many comments on these forums from those that have the S7 and find all functions working, i would say the S7 is unofficially supported.

Maybe updating their Wikipedia page with a factual description of the lack
of support for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge....pointing out the many
disgruntled forum members. The "Quality Issues" on Fitbit's Wikipedia page
is fairly hard hitting regarding the lack of quality in some aspects of
manufacturing.

It amazes me that the s7 has been out this long and still can't use it as a step tracker device for fitbit.
I have been a long time fitbit user, but my old fitbit has died, not going to drop money on another plus pay subscription every month.
Would be extremely helpful if they would fix this for so many people. Been months now without being able to track steps and use the fitbit platform to sync of with myfitness pal. I would have moved on to samsung health if I could get that to be compatible with myfitness.
Can't have good progress without tracking of activity and food intake.
Personally I feel Fitbit is really letting down it's users by not keeping software compatability up to date with popular mainstream brands.

Not aure how to explain it better but I will try.
My fitbit device died. I do not wish to ourchase another when my ohone has
a step counting mechanism. I want my pgone to be my step counter device
like many others do with their phones.
Fitbit should have made an update by now to allow the phone to send the
counted steps to the installedobile app without a fitbit device using the
phone alone as the tracker.
It isnt like the s7 is some cheap prepaid off brand phone.
