Syncing w/Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge

My fitbit app wouldn't work with my new Samsung Galaxy S7 (Marshmellow) due to syncing issues. I just reset my fitbit (plug it into laptop/wall charger and hold button on left side for approx 10seconds until fitbit symbol appears, then unplug it). App worked instantly! 🙂

If you haven't already, contact fitbit directly. I did and not only did I
get a discount for a new fitbit but I can now sync with my Edge 7. I think
they just need a push. Good luck.

@joggerncyclist if i read you right it sounds like your more conerned about not getting notifacations than being able to sync i suggest scrolling up and looking at the troubleshooting hints. It really should sync.. Support could help with this if you don't want us to try.

No it wasn't syncing with my Edge at all. Lasted about 2 weeks and they
kept telling me that they were working on it. Finally ot started syncing
again. This was after contacting them at least 4 times.

Seriously?  I just bought the Blaze, it won't even do the initial update.  The S7 is not a supported device?  What absolute trash... return...

This just happened to me on Tuesday. Did you get a resolution?

Looking for an ETA for the S7 being a supported device.

So when will the Fitbit be compatible with the S7 and S7 Edge? One of the fastest selling phones and you haven't made it work? I don't get it. Syncing it to my computer or another device doesn't help me get my notifications which was one of the main draws. Will you notify us when it works?

I don't know about the S7 edge but with 3 friends and the many comments on these forums from those that have the S7 and find all functions working, i would say the S7 is unofficially supported.

Grrrrrrrr! Seriously Fitbit? What is taking so long? This thread started in March! This is not an obscure phone I don't think it is unreasonable to expect it to be supported by noe

I mean now not noe 🙂

Is there somewhere else we can post to get fitbit's attention? It seems they really could care less that we are all annoyed! As evidenced by 6 months of posts!

Maybe updating their Wikipedia page with a factual description of the lack
of support for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge....pointing out the many
disgruntled forum members. The "Quality Issues" on Fitbit's Wikipedia page
is fairly hard hitting regarding the lack of quality in some aspects of
manufacturing.

I have called them and they gave me a 25% discount coupon. I called again
and emailed them and soon after I was able to sync. Don't know of they are
doing this upgrade in sections but it can't hurt to try.

It amazes me that the s7 has been out this long and still can't use it as a step tracker device for fitbit.
I have been a long time fitbit user, but my old fitbit has died, not going to drop money on another plus pay subscription every month.

Would be extremely helpful if they would fix this for so many people. Been months now without being able to track steps and use the fitbit platform to sync of with myfitness pal. I would have moved on to samsung health if I could get that to be compatible with myfitness.

Can't have good progress without tracking of activity and food intake.

Personally I feel Fitbit is really letting down it's users by not keeping software compatability up to date with popular mainstream brands.

My S7 Edge syncs now. Keep trying. Also, why do you have a monthly charge?
I don't pay anything extra. And Samsung Health does sync with myfitness. I
used to use both but it is so much easier to use just fitbit.

how did you get your s7 to act as the tracker Diamend?

I'm not sure what you're asking. Do you mean with Samsung health?

Not aure how to explain it better but I will try.

My fitbit device died. I do not wish to ourchase another when my ohone has
a step counting mechanism. I want my pgone to be my step counter device
like many others do with their phones.

Fitbit should have made an update by now to allow the phone to send the
counted steps to the installedobile app without a fitbit device using the
phone alone as the tracker.

It isnt like the s7 is some cheap prepaid off brand phone.

Personally, I hated having my phone in my pocket all day. The ease of
wearing fitbit is more to my liking. Put it on and forget it. When using my
phone, there were just so many times I forgot or couldn't have my phone
with me. But, you can sync Samsung Health with myfitness. If you are having
trouble just call samsung, they'll help you. Good luck.
