Fitbit Update: 9/12/19
Hey all!
We're still investigating and working on a fix for this text notification issue on Android.
In addition to not receiving the correct text notification, we're now aware this is also affecting call notifications. Some of you may only see a previous caller's name and not the person actually calling you at the time you're receiving the notification.
When we have more information for a fix, we'll announce it here in this thread. Please stay tuned for updates!
Fitbit Update: 7/30/19
Hi everyone.
We're aware of these issues with receiving only the sender's name from your text messages. This appears to have started with the Fitbit for Android app version 3.0. If you're experiencing this yourself with your Fitbit device, please know we're working on a fix.
While our team investigates this further, we just ask for your patience. Once I have information for a fix, I'll make an announcement here on this thread.

I actually just "solved" it but I am scared. Found an "Alpha Pronto Karate" (won't let me use the abbreviation - see first letters) Fitbit version 2.95 out there and installed it. My phone wasn't happy and did not want to load any of the attempts from multiple sites - and I didn't install until I found a site that at least "appeared" more reliable with less popups and ads. Told the phone I understand the security risk and did it.Well, this morning it is working again. If there were versions after 2.95 (which there were) then I don't really know what bugs I just re-opened. I also don't know when it will update again and wipe it out.The sad thing is that if we can figure this out by going back in time, why can't Fitbit just use 2.95 as 3.5 (or whatever) and fix the many who are stuck with this problem?

Just installed a 10 minute update pushed to my Charge 2 and no change in this issue. Very sad that the fitbit techies can't resolve the lack of text detail notification displaying on the fitbit. Maybe they need to look back at their old program coding from two months ago...

This issue has been on going. I have tried all the fixes. Yesterday my Charge 2 began to continuously scroll through the screens and vibrate. Runs the battery down fast but still works. So upon investing found that is also an unresolved issue. I began looking into replacement devices. Reading the blog on the Charge 3, I found they have a help topic for the messages. Within the topic there is a heading with a long list of things to do, including all app and phone settings. The heading is "WHY ARE MY NOTIFICATIONS DELAYED OR MISSING?"
https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1610/?q=Notifications&l=en_US&fs=Search&pn=1
I haven't worked through them all yet. Even if I get that corrected I think the other issue is terminal.

This is a shocking amount of time for you to still be saying "Yeah, we know there's a problem, but still can't fix it". This is not a new feature you're attempting to introduce; this is existing functionality that clearly wasn't tested prior to rollout, and now over a month later, no one can look at the old code to figure this out? You can't provide the previous version of the software for those of us willing to install it, and instead making us rely on shady mirror sites?
This is a really poor showing in customer support, and, shockingly, not the first time an issue incredibly similar has occurred, since I dealt with *no* text notifications about a year ago with the same device. Is there anyone doing QA testing prior to release, or is that the kind of luxury only afforded to people who spend money on the latest and "greatest" products?

Not only will the text message only show the senders name, the caller display is incorrectly showing the name of the last call answered. I have missed some important phone calls because of this. I have downloaded all the updates and did the firmware update to the Charge 2. Still not fixed.
