Fitbit Update: 9/12/19

Hey all!

We're still investigating and working on a fix for this text notification issue on Android.

In addition to not receiving the correct text notification, we're now aware this is also affecting call notifications. Some of you may only see a previous caller's name and not the person actually calling you at the time you're receiving the notification.

When we have more information for a fix, we'll announce it here in this thread. Please stay tuned for updates!

Fitbit Update: 7/30/19

Hi everyone.

We're aware of these issues with receiving only the sender's name from your text messages. This appears to have started with the Fitbit for Android app version 3.0. If you're experiencing this yourself with your Fitbit device, please know we're working on a fix.

While our team investigates this further, we just ask for your patience. Once I have information for a fix, I'll make an announcement here on this thread.

Interested in knowing when there will be a fun and would just like a notification on how to resolve.  I paid extra for a Fitbit because I wanted it to work.  Otherwise I could use a cheaper option on Amazon.

Hello guys! It's a pleasure to continue providing assistance with the difficulties experienced with our notifications feature, my apologies for the delay in responding your posts.

I'd like to share with you that we’re aware of this situation where you receive the text message but only the sender's name, we are currently working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible, we're sorry for any trouble this may cause and appreciate your patience while we look forward to getting you back on track. Once I receive an update about this, I'll make sure to post it here.

@cmoneylady @SunsetRunner @violetderay @AFink I'm sorry to know that you're not receiving notifications at all, your patience with this situation is appreciated. I recommend you guys to check our help article: How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device? to make sure that all the settings and requirements to receive notifications are correctly configured. Also, please check that your mobile devices are compatible with our products and services because a compatibility concern can affect the notifications to come though due to firmware, Android and Fitbit app updates.

If all of the above is verified, please move forward and try the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone and let me know how it goes.

@Rnoncall To turn off automatic app updates, this will depend on your mobile device platform, but you'll need to go to your Google Play store (Android) or App store (iOS) settings to disable such feature.

See you around, let me know if some of you have additional questions for me to answer. Your patience and understanding are appreciated.

I am receiving notifications, just NOT text messages, which I need this feature back.  My phone is compatible, I did everything possible to verify the settings are accurate, force stopped, uninstalled and reinstalled,  etc.  I have had issues in the past with this where the text notifications would stop coming through but would resolve after restarting both devices or in some instances it would randomly resume after a few days of it not functioning properly.  I have been without this feature for about a month now, and I understand this is being worked on and appreciate the effort, but I do agree with others that this is greatly deterring me from continuing with these products in the future

I tried troubleshooting, google fitbit app version 2.95, i know this is not a big help since I can't remember the exact steps. All I know is it's back to version 2.95 and its working perfectly as before, i can recieve and see the sender and the message as before.  I'm still figuring out how to disable the auto update for the fitbit.

Working as quickly as possible? It has been 2 months. Just re release a previous version as an update.

It used to work, so what's the problem.

Responses feel like they are being read from a manual with no real attempts at a solution.

Do you have an estimate of when situation will be resolved? I've experienced this for months and have tried all of the suggested fixed.

Me too

Tap, tap, tap... Is this thing on? Hey Fitbit "support". 11 pages and several canned "try this, try that" suggestions after 1½ months since the app messages worked?

Blah, blah, blah. We know you're aware of the situation. How about a fix? Or roll back to 2.95 that worked? No? Instead, you expect users who PAID for your device(s) to take it upon themselves to find the 2.95 a p k, possibly from dubious sources, to do there own fix.

Everyone who has posted here depends on seeing the actual text message. That's why we BOUGHT your device(s).

It's time for you to own it and fix it! Frankly, I've had it with Fitbit. I, and many other loyal customers, went through the same type of issues last Fall and it took over 3 months to get resolution.

Hmm, maybe stockholders could get a fix. Just saying...
