Text message notification - GS6

I have a Samsung Galaxy S6, I have set up notifications for messages, calendar and caller ID. My only issue is that I cannot actually preview the text messages, it just alerts me that I have a new message or messages.   I think it is supposed to actually show a preview of who is texting me but I cannot figure out how to make it work.  I've no problems having a phone number or person's name pop up when I get a phone call.  It's just texting.  It says...."new message or messages".  Help???

None of these worked as I was getting notification for text messages...just not the name of the person texting.  I played around with some settings on my phone and everything is now working correctly.  I truly believe it was the phone settings now...not my fitbit!  Thanks!
