I've had my flex for a year (a Christmas present from my brother last year). Based on on how much I used it, and got use out of it (over 2,500 miles in the year), this year my brother gave me a ChargeHR.
I was surprised by three things:
1. The first time I added the ChargeHR, via the Android app, to my profile, all my steps (from the flex) were lost. Here is my post on the subject: <link>. Next attempt I did first thing in the morning, to minimize step loss, but to my surprise no steps were lost, so except for reason cited in the post, all is well.
2. If I wear both devices, steps are not doubled (on the dash/app). Initially I was wearing both devices, to see how the step counts compared to each either. However, after syncing, my steps were not doubled. Very clever programming, which leads me to my third observation.
3. Data flows both ways from the fitbit cloud to the fitbit devices:After wearing both devices for several days, I took my flex off and set it on the counter. I went out for a walk, only with my ChargeHR, to get my daily goal of 15,000 steps. I got my "goal met" buzz and headed home. I sat down, phone in hand, and a short distance from the flex, still on the counter. My ChargeHR sync'd, then my flex was sync'd. My flex started flashing and vibrating, indicating "goal met." This freaked me out. Well done fitbit and now I know why my steps were not doubled.
I initially planned to retire my flex and give it someone else, but now I'm inclined to keep it as a backup device should my ChargeHR experience any problems.
Bottom line:Very impressed with fitbit! Well done!
Keep on steppin',
Eric

Hello there @EricJRW and thank you for share your experience with your new Charge HR and your old Flex. Indeed this was impressive for me when I tried it for the first time. With multitracker feature, you can count on a dashboard that accurately and seamlessly tallies your day's steps from Flex, your evening run and cool-down walk from your Charge HR, and your sleep record from the tracker you find most comfortable at night. You can learn more about this feature by reviewing our article called: "Can I use more than one Fitbit tracker with the same account?" Here you will find all the relevant information about this in case you are curious about it.
See ya later my friend and keep sharing your experience in our community.
