I am unable to search or scan food items to log them in my fitbit app. I have already force stopped the app and restarted with no resolve. Foods in my recent and frequent lists appear but I'm unable to search for anything new.

Reboot and reinstall app but food customization still not working. And still cannot change title of sport activity once recorded (seems you can save the name change activity opening the specific activity but once modify in the main screen appears a generic sport activity

Dear Fitbit Support Team,
Although the food database issue was reportedly resolved as of November 7, 2025, I am still unable to access it. I’ve followed all the recommended steps — rebooting my iPhone, logging in and out, force-quitting and reinstalling the app, again restarting the phone, and even resetting via USB. Despite this, I can only add custom foods; the database search remains unavailable.
My recent, frequent, and custom foods appear correctly, which suggests the outage has not been fully resolved on Fitbit’s end. This recurring issue with the food database is disappointing, especially given Fitbit’s reputation and pricing. The ecosystem feels increasingly unreliable, which undermines the overall value of the platform.
Please escalate this issue internally so that users can regain full access to the food database as soon as possible.
Thank you for your attention to this ongoing problem.

Dear KAB I would appreciate your sharing with the community what steps you took to resolve this issue. As you can see from my post, I thought that I had tried every possible work around. Please share and thanks for your reply.
I note that you are a jogger, I cycle and it would be ideal to have my fitness tracker broadcast my heart rate to my bike computer via ANT+ or BT but Fitbit devices do not support broadcasting heart rate so I need to use a chest strap, which is an annoyance.
If I cannot find a workaround to this continuing food database problem coupled with the fact that Fitbit doesn't allow heart rate broadcasting I am considering switching to a Garmin Vivosmart which allows HR broadcasting and reportedly has more accurate heart rate and fitness tracking.
I will miss the AMOLED screen, but hey, you can't have everything right?

no it’s not. It worked for a day and now it isn’t working again. Try deleting, reinstalling and didn’t work

What about creating custom food items? It still seems to be broken 11 days later. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app a few times. I can't log all of my food because I can't create items that don't exist in the database yet.
