Unable to edit activities from the Fitbit App

If I try to edit the duration of an activity (because I forgot to hit stop on the watch, or the auto detect feature kicked in to late, or I forgot to start the activity and started it 10 minuted late), the change is not correctly applied.

Now, the "duration" field inside the activity is updated, but the plots, are not, the metrics are not (screenshot 1). Also the end time is not updated (screenshot 2). Lastly the activity duration changes are not propagated (the old duration persists) to health connect of google fit (screenshot 3) .

Related issue: A few months ago I had an even worse issue: not even the duration field would change. It woudl revert to the original value. That seems to be documented in an old dead thread: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Android-App/Edits-to-Exercise-Activity-is-Not-Saving

Currently using Samusng A55, Pixel Watch 3. Fitbit data is sync'd to Health Connect and Strava. Health connect  is alos sync'd with Google Fit. The activity was recorded using the Fitbit app on Pixel 3.

Screenshot 1: edited activity: the duration field has been cropped to 50 minutes, but the plot or the metrics have not(i.e. Light activity time is 1h24min more than the total (new) duration of the activity)

Screenshot 2: activity as seen from the exercise overview screen: end time is still the original, do not match the new duration of the activity

Screenshot 3: sync'd activity to Google Fit (via health connect). The edited duration has not propagated. For Google Fit, the duration is still the old one

Fixed. Sorta... Found a workaround: created a new activity with the same start hour and the corrected duration (without deleting the old one). Magically, now I only have one activity with the correct duration. Got the desired result unexpectedly.
