Enabling notifications is a multi-step process. First you must enable them. Thenm you need to go into both notifications for calls and notifications for texts and choose the dialer and SMS app that you want to use. And of course bluetooth needs to be on all the time on your phone.

In the messaging app the show text body needs to be checked, some apps dont have this option.
Then swipe down on the status bar, hold the finger on the sound icon. When the sound settings pops yp, scroll down. Set show on lock screen to yes.
