On my desktop I sign in through Facebook, but on the app (I have an android) it does not give me an option to sign in through Facebook and will not accept my Facebook credentials.  Is there something I'm missing or a way around this?

When was the first time you experienced this and how many times since then? If possible, please send me a screenshot of the Fitbit app login screen following the steps that are specified on: How To: Add An Image To Your Post
