Unable to save workout session after edit

I did a workout yesterday and my Versa 4 did not record it properly. It wasnt paused so i dont know what happened. I was unable to type in the calorie bar so I left it.

This morning I tried again and was able to edit all the details but unfortunately it won't save the data.

Any advice?

@teella Welcome to the forums. Thanks for reaching out about the workout details on the Fitbit app and the explanation.

What kind of workout ist it? Was this a workout session manually started on the Versa 4? If so, please note that manually logged workouts cannot be changed. That should be the reason it will not let you save the changes.

You can only edit workout sessions that were automatically tracked by your device. That usually occurs when you spend 15+ minutes in motion. If the device is not able to identify the type of exercise, it will log it as general "sport". These workouts you can edit and save the changes.

Hey, thanks for getting back to me.

That would make sense, it was a manually started workout. Unfortunate, because my watch wasn't paused and it seems to have recorded some data but nothing is showing.

Thanks for the response

@teella Thanks for the swift reply. Yes, currently manually logged activities cannot be changed. Thanks for your understanding.

What exactly happened to your exercise log? Was the log shorter than it actually was? What are the details shown on the training summary? Just want to understand and see if I can help you sort it out. Thanks in advance!

I selected the treadmill workout and can't edit the miles for my sense. I am in the process of tweaking my stride since the watch and app way under calculate my distance. Can someone reach out?

Is there a reason we can no longer edit a manually started workout since the new update? I used to be able to edit it (particularly when I get distracted by kids or something and forget to stop my watch). It was very useful. Please bring this back!

Hello @Mhero1993 & @Fitmama018

According to a recent update on this issue that we got from the Fitbit team, you should be able to edit the name of a completed workout in the app as long as it doesn't have the option to use GPS (e.g., walk, run). The team is working on fixing the issue for activities that have the option to use GPS. This is for both Android & iOS users.

Hopefully, it won't take too long to see this fixed for all activities & all users in a future app update.
