I typically make all my lunches for the week on Sunday and log it in the app at that time. I think toward the end of May there was an app update that no longer shows the future dates which I have logged food for. I don't see anything in the logs for 3.59.1 that would indicate this was an intentional change to the functionality of the app. I have restarted my phone on numerous occasions and have not seen any difference.
For example: Prior to the update on May 19, if the date was May 8th, I could see the calories I had logged for May 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th. After the update, if the date was June 5th, I could not see the calories I had logged for June 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th.
Image shows calorie count for past and current date only despite future calories being logged

I'm getting really frustrated with this issue. It feels like it isn't important enough to Fitbit. It has been months and we are still unable to log food for future dates. I'm seriously planning on not getting another fitbit and I've been pretty loyal. Meal planning helps address my health needs and Fitbit hasn't allowed that function for months.

Yeah, I would actually use the Fitbit food log if it wasn't such garbage. I like to preplan my meals and I'm not going to take the excruciatingly long amount of time to do it on the website rather than the app. Hard pass, food log isn't worth using as it is essentially useless.

Totally agree!
Fitbit has totally changed the Fitbit app and you can no longer pre record/add foods for forward dates, only current or past. You cannot enter tomorrow’s meal today and it SUCKS!
Also… you cannot see the individual foods macronutrients anymore, the macronutrient shown is only for your entire day. And… you can no longer set up your macros for the desired percentages of whatever type of diet you are on!
You also can no longer enter a meal or food item to breakdown the sugars, fats, protein etc..
This is totally unacceptable! If you’re going to offer a product that “helps” the user keep track and fine tune then bring it back, otherwise there’s not much use for an expensive watch that’s “supposed“ to offer food recordings when you can just by something cheaper or buy another brand that takes care of the user!
What are you doing to do about this???
Go back to the way your old app worked! This one sucks and isn’t very proficient!!!

Hello everyone!
Today I have been working with the food log feature. I was able to log items for future dates. The only thing is, that these items will not be displayed in the app until that day is reached. I was able to confirm the food items were logged the next day and went to the website to confirm the rest of the week. The items are there. In this case, you can make the food logs for all week or desired future days and wait for the next day and they will show in the app as well.

Hello @RodrigoMFitbit
All the information that you have provided above, we,as a collective on this post, were already aware of; I'm doubtful that you read through the entirety of this post before making your statement.
The issue is that prior to the graph updates and the original break of food logging through the app, we could log food for the future but we could also see it immediately. As someone who plans all their meals for an entire week, I could go into the app and log my food on a Sunday and see howany calories and what my macro breakdown was going to be for the entire week on that Sunday. Now, if I wish to do that I have to wait for the end of the week to see that whole week breakdown. Logging meals from the website is an okay alternative; however in this day and age, it is more likely for someone to open their phone to log their caloric intake than to try and remember everything the next time they go sit at their computer.
Unfortunately, this issue is still not resolved and we have been waiting nearly nine months for an update of actual substance.

@Crimexturtle I appreciate your feedback. I was just letting everybody know how it is working at the moment and what you can do to log the food entries for future dates. This is directed to all users in this thread as well for new users that may visit it in the future. Thanks for your continued reports and efforts throughout this process. Please note that our team is aware of the situation, but may not be able to provide an immediate fix.

Is this going to be fixed ? It is helpful to actually see everything in advance vs. Having to wait to the day of.

Is there any update on this?
In the past, being able to plan my meals ahead of time and “schedule” them was the only effective method of controlling caloric intake for me. And it was very effective! But it relies on being able to input meals for future days so I do not have to make meal decisions on the fly.
When will the ability to enter foods for future days be available again in the app?

Hello everyone!
Thanks for reaching out about food logs. I do understand the advantages on logging food in advance. However, this is no longer possible as it used to. I really appreciate your feedback. I think this was rather a change on how the information is displayed than an issue. Please note that this has been reported already. Our team is aware of the situation. We shall see how the food logging tool keeps on being developed.

Hello @RodrigoMFitbit
Please be aware that due to the lack of urgency on this issue and the depreciation of many other Fitbit features, that I will not be purchasing any new Fitbit branded devices in the future. This decision comes after being a Fitbit user since 2015. My Versa 3, which is only 2.5 years old, has recently started showing signs of poor charging, being unable to sync, and having issues turning back on when I have to shut it down completely. It seems that I will no longer be a Fitbit customer sooner than later. I look forward to no longer having issues like this, and a lack of user support when that time comes.
