Unable to see my own badges > solved for Android and iOS

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

From about mid-January I can no longer see part of my badges and challenges. I can see trophees and top badges, but not the other badges and challenges results. Not in the Android app and not in the internet Dashboard.
Neither did I get a Year Overview 2019 (I did get 2018) although I always get my week overviews. I don't know if these two problems are related.

It looks as if I am blocked to see my own badges, except the top badges. All my badges are visible for my friends but not for me. When I try to change my privacy settings for the item Badges and Trophies, I can do that, but in reality it just doesn't change. It keeps saying "Badges and trophies are private" .

All the other privacy settings can be changed.

I get the following message when I want to go to the badges and I can also see that I have no rights to access my badges:

Android mobile app:
- I deleted the data and the cache
- I logged out of the mobile app, deleted it,
- restarted the phone
- installed the app again.
This makes no difference.

Internet Dashboard:
- I closed the site.
- I deleted all the cookies and saved passwords
- I restarted the phone (and the PC)
- Restarted the Dashboard (Chrome)

- Installed FireFox and used that to login.

- Checked possible add blocks
This makes no difference.

I haved logged in on the Mobile app and the Dashboard from friends mobile phones and a friends PC, it makes no difference.

Does anyone else has or had this problem too?

Hi @Corr, it's nice to see you again participating here in the Community Forums, welcome back! Sorry for the delayed reply.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention and the detailed information that was shared in your post, seems odd that you're unable to check your own badges, the screenshot that's attached was really helpful for me to understand in a better way this situation. To better assist you with this and because you already tried several troubleshooting steps prior to posting, can you please send me a screenshot of the error message you receive on the Fitbit app?

Looking forward to your reply.

Hi @RicardoFitbit

Thanks so much for picking this up!

The mobile app doesn't give an error message, it just refuses to show me the badges other then my top badges and the challenges. The dashboard on the internet gives the error message (Oops-page)

Screenshot_20200201-163347.jpg

So, I open the mobile app and go to:

Community

Friends

Me

Then I can only see my top badges. Not all the badges I ever earned or any challenges.

The trophees are okay.

I can also go to

settings

Privacy

There you see that the badges are open to friends. And they are to all my friends, not to me 🤤

Hope you have seen this before....

Hi @RicardoFitbit

Is there already any news on the privacy settings/blocked badges front yet?

I deleted and re-installed the mobile app once more, but it makes no difference.

Whatever I do, the badges remain blocked for me, but not for others.

Thank you for your reply and escalating my problem, @RicardoFitbit . I am quit sure that one way or another, their is a problem in the privacy settings. I can change them for every option, but the "badges option" just doesn't react on changing the setting.

I will be patient for a while 😊

I am experiencing exactly the same problem for about three months. Tried several iOS devices and web-based dashboard on windows. This issue has been with support already for 3-months. There is no way to import your previous stats into a new account unfortunately. I hope there will be a fix soon. Below a screenshot from the Fitbit iOS app. Web-based it gives an internal server error which is shown at the second screenshot.

Hi @Zero0703

Thanks for reporting this. I was ready to make a new account. I can save the trouble then.

I did also send a message to support. They replied they are aware of the problem and working on it. Heard nothing from them since.

By the way, I have something "extra" since last night. Either I try to login on the Community via the dashboard or the mobile app I get this message:

Corr_0-1582013652828.png

I can now only go to the Community via the little bell left of my avatar and the question mark. It looks more and more like something is corrupt in my account (and yours).

Hi @Zero0703 and @RicardoFitbit

After a lot of messing around I found the solution for the badges problem!

I changed my language preference in the settings back from "Nederlands (Nederlands)" to "Nederlands (Engels)".

Hope playing with the (language) settings works for you too @Zero0703

Hi @Corr @RicardoFitbit ,

Thanks for the message! I changed the settings, and am now able to acces my badges through the web-based dashboard. The iOS app still shows the error. So that is half way fixed 🙂 I saw you use the android app, does that show your badges?

Cheers,

Hi @Zero0703 I noticed that too, in the Android app the old situation. I am going to clear cache data etc. now to see if that helps.

Hi @Zero0703 and @RicardoFitbit

Yep, it does work now.

- Changed the language settings in the mobile app too!

- Closed the app (did not delete it)

- Cleared cache and data

- Restarted the phone

- Logged into the app again.

Unfortunately didn’t work, even after deleting and reinstalling te iOS app. Maybe Fitbit can fix it now part of the problem seems solved. My friends can access my badges through their Fitbit iOS app.

Hi @Zero0703  and @RicardoFitbit

That's a bummer.

Yes, one way or another the privacy settings for the badges were blocked

with those language settings.

Other people were able to see all my badges too, but I couldn't.

I hope Ricardo can figure this out for you.

If not, you have to compare your settings with someone who has iOS.

Keep us posted!

Hi @Corr @RicardoFitbit ,

The new language settings are only saved for a few minutes, and then I am able to see my badges in the web dashboard. When I visit again later, the settings jumped back to Nederlands (Nederlands)

So there seems something wrong with saving my new settings to my profile.

@RicardoFitbit : are you still there?

Hi @Zero0703 Am I right in assuming that you have an iPhone? If so, I can look at the settings of an iPhone from a friend this weekend and post them here.

Of course it would be better if @RicardoFitbit or another moderator could help out here....

I figured out that when I change my language settings in the app it does save it, and I can see my badges web based dashboard only. When re-installing the iOS app, it changes the settings back to Nederlands. When changing to Nederlands (Engels) the web based dashboard functions again, however the iOS app keeps giving an error. I guess Fitbit should be able to fix it now with our input.
