Fitbit app quit syncing with my Samsung note 8. "Sync Now" has exclamation mark and no longer syncs.

Hello there @djnaylor, I saw this is your first post in the Fitbit Community, so let me start with a warm welcome.

I was reading you are experiencing syncing issues with your Note 8. For additional help regarding syncing issues the following post will give you all the necessary help: Having trouble syncing? (here's how to fix this).

Additionally I recommend to review if your app is updated to the latest version. For more details please review this post: Android app version 2.66 is now available - 2/5.

To see what version of the Fitbit app is installed on your device:

  1. Tap the menu button.
  2. Tap Help.
  3. Tap Fitbit App.

See you around and hope this helps.

Hello,

My Fitbit Zip will not sync ever since a recent software update to my Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Since then, I can only sync when removing and replacing the battery. Then it immediately stops syncing. I've tried many other suggestions to no avail (i.e. force stop phone app, restart phone, turn bluetooth off/on, pull up on negative battery terminal, pull in on positive terminal, make sure app is up to date....). I've read lots of messages from other users with the same issue. Do you have a solution to this problem?

Thank you.

Hello,

Reinstalling the Fitbit app on my phone may have finally fixed the problem as my Zip is now syncing properly for the last 15 minutes or so. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. The software update on my phone must have messed up the location permission setting. I made sure to sync my data with the online dashboard before uninstalling/reinstalling the app so I thankfully did not lose any data.

I tried all the recommended solutions and thought reinstalling the app fixed the problem. However, I spoke to soon because my Fitbit Zip is not syncing again. The reinstall only synced for a few minutes.Sent via the Samsung Galaxy Note8, an AT&T 5G Evolution capable smartphone

I have ionic that I bought in Feb, 2019 and it worked fine for couple of months and now all of a sudden it stopped syncing. I thought the issue was with the watch but actually the issue is with both the app and the watch. The app can not find bluetooth signal and in rare occasion if it does it can not find the watch.

Wasted my time talking to customer support and all they had to offer me was $7 blue tooth dongle which I can use to sync the watch with computer, what a solution for $250 watch.

I paid in full for a working product and I demand the product works and Fotbit clearly state which models are not compatible. If you look at the list it says note 8 but that is the tab and not the phone.

I have been using Fitbit for over 4 years now, bought all their devices and this is what I get in return a broken product, $7 fix and I am sorry for the inconvenience. I am done with Fitbit!
