I have a Google Pixel and a Surge. They have been working great together (after a few issues when the Pixel was first introduced), but after my latest FitBit app update (currently have FitBit version 2.54), my Surge has not updated since August 3rd. My Surge firmware version is 16.34.5.14. I did a Surge restart and tried syncing again, no luck. I re-synced my Bluetooth connection, no luck. What else can I do?

Hello @GDH_2015, welcome aboard to the Fitbit Community. I see you have tried some troubleshooting steps to address the syncing issues. Since this happened after the update of the app please try the steps from the following post. (The scenario is different but the steps can be apply in your case too)
After you have clear the cache of the app, try one more time the steps from this post: Having trouble syncing? (here's how to fix this).
