Unable to upload pictures on Fitbit app

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Lately I cannot upload any photos via the fitbit android app. I can't upload to my own page, groups or change my pictures.

When I select photo option the screen goes white and like it refreshes to the same screen and when I click photo option again it says Fitbit keeps stopping / app info / close app / send feedback ... but none of these options work except for close app.

I have all the correct permissions. This is new as I've been able to upload pictures before.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Revoked all permission and set up again.

Please help

Hi,

I tried the steps you listed above and its the same problem.

It's been happening since sometime in November. I know I uploaded a picture of my dog on Halloween lol, but since that I haven't been able to post any pictures. I've tried off and on several times. I usually share pictures of my pets or food sometimes scenery so I know I haven't violated any rules about pictures.

I am currently using a Samsung Galaxy A21.

Hope this helps 🙂

Your reply is appreciated @SunsetRunner.

Thanks for all the details that were shared with me, certainly you didn't violated any rules by sharing pictures of your pets or food in the app. To make sure if this is affecting the Fitbit app Android platform, can you please try uploading a picture using the Fitbit.com dashboard and let me know if the issue persists?

I'll be here waiting for your reply.

I've been having the same problem except it NEVER let me upload a photo to the community. I can do a header photo and a profile photo but that's it. I've tried the same process you suggested above and still cannot get a photo to upload to the community/my page. I thought perhaps it was a permissions thing but I have been through the whole app, through Fitbit.com as well jic, and through my phone's individual settings from my phone's homescreen and everything is on the up and up. I even had my bf who works in IT check it out and he says it's either permissions that I can't access currently (like initial popup permissions when I first downloaded the app) or a software compatability issue. I even tried switching permissions off, restarting my phone, turning permissions back on, and restarting again. Mine is a brand new phone I've had less than 2 months, too, so def not an issue with the phone its self. I got lucky to find this post (bc I've been looking for help for a couple of weeks) but not sure I'm tech savvy enough to find it again. Can someone from Fitbit support pls follow up w me via email at ? I thank you for your time and help! 💖 Have a great day, everyone!

I am having the same problem with my Fitbit Charge 3  on the same Samsung Galaxy A21. I know it worked last week when I posted my stats. By the way I did follow all the steps you provided. Please help

Hi, sorry for the late reply. I'm not sure how to upload pictures via the website. I've only used the app for it.

But it is interesting other people have come forward with the same issues.

Uploading photos was a fun part of the app.

I am having the same issue since Round end of November. I have a Samsung Galaxy S20. So frustrating.

Hi, same problem here. Huawei Mate 20 Pro. Using the community feature since yesterday and couldn't upload neither profile nor banner picture. Also I can't upload pictures in groups. I can post text, though.

Did you guys find any solution to it yet? It seems that quite some people are affected by it.

Best Answer

Disappointed that there has been no solution after quite some time. I have given up trying and moved to another app. I only use fitbit to track steps and record in another app. Sucks because I really enjoyed the FitBit app but if I can't upload photos it has greatly reduced my interest in using it.

I'm having the same issue. It's so disappointing because I'm doing a big group challenge and it involves uploading photos and I can't participate. Does anyone have a fix for it?

I didn't find a solution for my main smartphone (Huawei Mate 10 Pro) but it worked on my second phone, Huawei P8 Lite 2017.

I have no explanation why it works on one of my Huaweis and why it doesn't on the other. But if you have another smartphone, you could give it a try to at least upload a few pictures from time to time.

Hope that helps.
Best regards
Mike

Thanks Mike, I'll give it a go on my husbands phone. I did get in contact with Fitbit online and they said it was because my Android is only operating on version 7.1, and it needs to be at least version 8 for all functions of the Fitbit app to work 🤷‍:female_sign: so that's disappointing!

Hey Kolah,

I’m not sure if it is Android-related. On my current Huawei Mate 10 Pro I have Android 9 installed and still it doesn’t work. Although I obviously don’t know the exact reason, I think it’s not Android.

If you find any solutions, it would be great if you would share them here.

Best regards
Mike

For me it did not work on Samsung S9. Got problems on Sony Experia 5 II... This is a crossover problem i think through multiple devices in the Fitbit system.
