Update charge 3 black screen resolved

I just pt my blank charge 3 back on the charger and took a ball point pen to push on/off button. Got a vertical line. Push the on/off again hard with the pen and my screen came on with a happy face. It then displayed correct face info. Each time, I left button pushed in for 15 seconds. Good luck all. Very frustrating for a new fitbit.

Where is the on/off button? I just got my Fitbit charge 3 on Christmas. I woke up this morning and the screen is completely black. I'm hoping your solution will work for me also.

The On/Off button is on the side. You need to push it in with a hard touch by using a ball point pen. My screen had gone dead, needed charging. Once I pushed it in, after charging, a smile came on black screen. I have not had a problem since. I make sure I charge it BEFORE it goes completely dead.Hope this helps.Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

When you said you used a ball point pen, I thought maybe the on/off button was in a different place. I tried what you said and it worked! Thank you so much! Though, my Fitbit was fully charged. So, I'm not sure why the screen went black. It was vibrating when I pressed the side button and was syncing to my phone with heart beat, etc. After I read what you posted, I put it on the charger and pressed and held the side button a few seconds. I then got the smiley face on the black screen and took it off the charger. Weird?? So happy to have it working again! I hope it stays that way

@hairgal71 @twinlakes A warm welcome to our Community!

I will assist you with your Charge 3 showing a blank screen and sorry for the late reply.

@hairgal71 did you try the restart on your Charge 3? You can also try changing the clock face and see if after syncing the issue is resolved.

@twinlakes happy to hear that your issue was resolved.

Keep me posted.

Hello. I've been having a black/blank screen on my charge 3 for nearly 3wks now. I've tried all the recommended tips like charging and changing the clock face (tried half a dozen of them) & rebooting the device & hard reboot (pressing the side button for 15 seconds whilst Charging?) but the display still doesn't turn on. All other functions were working fine (sync, steps & sleep tracking) however, 2 days ago I've been having sync issues. I recently updated to Android pie on the Galaxy s9. Don't know if that's causing the sync issues. I'd really appreciate any assistance you can provide. Thanks.

Hi, I had to turn my watch off, which you do by pushing and holding down
the slot button on the siDE of the watch up the left of the screen. You
may need an instrument to push it in. No troubles since i.did this. Hope
it works for you. Good luck!!👍:sun_with_face:

Hey...

I tried the ball pen thing. After that, the tracker would vibrate for long periods (more than 20secs) and the sync function wasn't working. Tried again and the constant vibrating stopped and sync function started working again but the screen is still blank. I've been in touch with customer support and been through troubleshooting steps but to no avail. Now they said they'll have to replace the tracker.

Rotten luck on my part I suppose!

But thanks so much for your help 🙂

Tried that a couple of times but still nothing comes on the display.

So frustrating actually.

Been in touch with customer support, they working on a replacement tracker. Hopefully I'll have better luck with that one.

Thank you!! My Fitbit Charge 3 went black all day.  I put it on the charger and nothing happened.  I read your post and did what you suggested with the pen and it showed the smiley and started working again.  Whew! I was concerned.  I just got this Fitbit a month ago.
