In order to ensure an optimal experience, please take a moment to update your Fitbit app to the latest version by September 30th for those using Fitbit app versions 3.00 to 3.90 and 4.00 to 4.21. If you wait beyond that date to update, the Fitbit App could experience performance issues.
Visit the Google Play Store to update the Fitbit app.
To determine your app version:
For Fitbit App 3.00 - 3.90
Google Account: Today > Account Menu (Top Right Icon) > Help > Version
Fitbit Account: Today > Account Menu (Top Left Icon) > Help & Support > Version
For Fitbit App 4.00 - 4.22 (and higher)
Google Account: Today > Google Account Menu (Top Right Icon) > Help > App Version
Fitbit Account: Today > Settings (Top Right Gear) > Help > App Version

After updating my wife's phone to 4.28.3, it appears that the pairing and syncing problems have been resolved! Yesterday, I was able to pair her Fitbit Inspire 3 with her phone and today we were able to sync her Fitbit data to her phone.

@rohr22 I was very excited when I saw your post.
So, I bounced on my rebounder for 35 minutes to test the update. Well, the app displayed 35 active minutes. Hooray! I had set my Fitbit to record the activity as a workout. When I stopped the tracking, today's "Exercise Days" section did not display a checkmark. I manually entered the information.
Then, a few minutes ago, the app added a 15-minute walk to my activities. I'm unsure where that count comes from since I sat down once I finished. Maybe the end of my rebounder workout triggered the "walk" activity.☹️
Hopefully, the next update will repair everything. Sigh.

@Emma_T I often get the random '15 minute walks' appearing, or sometimes 17 or 18 minutes. When in fact I've done a 50 minute workout, recorded on my watch or maybe a 2 hour walk which in 'the old days' the app would have no problems recognising.
Again, I totally fail to see how they can be 'developing' this product but every update makes it a little bit worse than it was ten years ago. All I can deduce, is that they are doing it on purpose for reasons only known to Google. This app worked perfectly for many years.

Yes, same for me, it is all working.

@Linz16 Do you know the last version number (or approximate date) that worked well for this app? I used the laptop version until it was no longer available and I was forced to my phone (which I hate using for various reasons). With this debacle I was motivated to learn how to load older versions onto my phone. I would love to go back to an older version that worked.

Rel. 3.8.2 used to work.

@snowballs_mom sorry I don't. In the 'old days' I paid no attention whatsoever to version numbers because the app worked perfectly for many years, we probably all took it for granted, it was great! At that point I wouldn't have even known where to look for the version number!
For me, it was whatever version we were on prior to September 2023, that's when they made the major changes which messed everything up. There have been so many version releases since then, each one trying to correct the things that they broke in the previous update.

I believe the 3.9 version series was before they hosed the UI and the graphs. It has been downhill since then....
My tablet is running Android 9 and is currently running 4.14 and won't upgrade to any later versions, as it has an older os.
