Uploading a screenshot in the community

Hello everyone!

This is a post to show all users how to add a screenshot to a post and what to do in case it does not let you upload it.

When you are typing in your post, you can add an image to it by clicking/tapping on the camera symbol above.

After you click/tap on it, you will get a window where you can add an image, either from your device, a URL address or saved photos in the community.

In case it does not let you upload the screenshot, it is because the system detects some numbers in the name and interprets it as sensitive information and does not let you proceed. This is the error message you might receive:

"The message body contains [number removed], which is not permitted in this community. Please remove this content before sending your post."

No worries, all you have to do is rename the file you want to upload. Go to your device, rename the file you are uploading such as it does not have digits separated with a dash or no numbers at all. Try again to upload it; that should do it. Hope this helps everyone in the community!

I'm curious, what stops Fitbit developers from fixing this issue?

@Triletics Thanks for your reply. Please note that this is rather a condition implemented to avoid sharing sensitive information. I guess it is related to phone numbers. This is intended, not an issue. This post is for you to understand the reason behind it and how to proceed in case you encounter yourself in that position. Thanks for your understanding!
