Using Samsung GPS connectivity poor

When syncing with my Samsung Galaxy phone to use the GPS it takes several attempts before it allows it (sometimes 10+ goes), sometimes works the first time. Please fix, its been like this for several months, I have installed all updates.

Hi there @Snowman2k, thank you for visiting the Fitbit Community. I saw you are experiencing issues with GPS connectivity. What type of feature are you using, is it with your tracker with Connected GPS or through your Fitbit app with MobileRun?

Most of the times, troubles with GPS depends of the environment you are in, since it can affect the signal strength of GPS. For example, if you are running in an urban environment with many tall buildings, it may take your GPS several seconds to get a fix.

If you are using MobileRun; open your Android Settings, then choose "Location" then "Mode" and set the phone in High Accuracy mode and restart your phone.

If this is with Connected GPS, follow the same steps just restart the tracker this time. For more help I saw on your community profile you have paired a Charge 2, so the following post will guide you through.

Hope this helps. See you until the next time!

Thank you for the feedback. I use a Samsung Galaxy, never had any issues up to several months ago, I could switch on the phone GPS inside the house, wait a few minutes and then leave the house select Walk and it would all sync. But not anymore, it can take upwards of 10 attempts. My Mode is set to High accuracy already. I have followed the suggestions in the post link to no avail, any more tips please?

Hello @Snowman2k, thank you for getting back to me with additional details. I'm sorry I haven't posted anything recently, so I'm wondering how it goes so far? If the issue persists, are you seeing any error when you try to use GPS?

Make sure your phone can identify your location and can track your location when you're not using Wi-Fi. In addition keep the Fitbit app is open on your phone or running in the background. Do not force quit the Fitbit app.

See you soon.

I followed your advice so far out of three attempts, it has worked twice and partial failed once. I will continue to monitor but it is definitely an improvement, thanks.
