Versa 2 - Activity category changes

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

The Fitbit app on my phone is switching activities I do as a 'run' to 'intense activity' while when I log into the website it shows as a run.

For example, I ran 8.56 miles yesterday.  After the run I checked the app on the phone and it originally listed it correctly as a 'run' with info including map and all stats.  Today I open the app and it has switched this 'run' from yesterday to 'intense activity' and all the associated data is no longer available on the phone.  If I log into the site the data is available just as it normally would be on the phone app.

Not sure what is causing this change.  It's a Galaxy S10 and set for fitbit app to allow location tracking.   Had an update to the phone recently and concerned something has changed to no longer allow the data to be visible on the phone.  While it does appear to be correct on the website when I login and view the history I'm worried it will start to replace the 'run' with the 'intense activity' category on previous runs.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @bitfit1972. Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks for the details shared about your activity. The Fitbit app shouldn't change the activity logged, so I'd be helpful if you can share a screenshot of the exercise as it's shown on the app and a screenshot of that exercise from the online dashboard. You can click here for instructions on how to attach a screenshot to your post.

Catch you later.

I've tried for an hour now and there no longer seems to be a way to upload an image.  When I hit reply here via a web browser on my PC there is a camera icon for 'Insert/edit image.'  Clicking it brings up a box with four cells include a 'source' cell.  But there is no browse option or any other button to open a window that would allow me to select an image to upload.  If I go to Community via phone the camera icon doesn't even appear as an option when reply.  Also can't even upload a photo to my profile at all.

Unfortunately the instructions from the link click here no longer seem to apply.  If I drag an image into this box it just says 'you do not have permission to upload images.'

I've got images for both but no way to post that appears to be functional.

I've rebooted both phone/watch.  I guess I'm going to uninstall the app on the phone and reinstall to see if that fixes the data issue.  Didn't want to do this in case something gets completely lost until I export the data already there.

Hi, @bitfit1972.

Thanks for the update. When you want to attach a picture to your post, just click on the camera icon and you'll see this pop-up window:

OnPaste.20210930-123845.png

Then click on "Choose Files" where you'll get another pop-up window to select the picture and open it. Click on Done and the screenshot will be attached. Before to uninstall the Fitbit app, make sure that you have Android OS 8.0 or higher. Otherwise you won't be able to download the app again.

See you around.

Sorry I am not getting the same pop-up as you or would have attached.  I hit the camera icon and get a pop-up with four empty cells labeled Source, Image Description and two for Dimensions.  I just joined and it might be a permissions issue.  Also, when I hit reply it forces a login then after login and returning here it no longer even shows the image you have posted in your last comment.  Only if I open this page in a browser not logged in does it show your image.

I wish I had that interface I would have had no problems uploading the images!

Back to the data issue...I uninstalled Fitbit on my phone, rebooted and reinstalled.  Now every run has lost the map and associated data.  A couple old runs have also switched like the one yesterday from 'run' to 'intense activity' and have lost on the data on the phone.  It's there on the website but not on phone.

Seems like the issue isn't happening anymore.  Last couple runs stayed categorized as run.  Once I found the website had the data correct it's not as much of an issue.  Also, when you review the '1 of X amount of days' for the weekly exercise review it actually showed as a run there when you open up the same event that way.  Weird it changed category in one part but kept correct in other areas where the activity is listed.

Consider this one closed and hopefully doesn't happen and if so people can check other parts where the activity is listed for accurate representation.
