My versa 2 will not sync since Oct 10th. I have reinstalled the app, restarted the tracker, unpaired all my devices from bluetooth and still getting the no device found error.  What can i do next

The issue is back after roughly three and a half days of syncing fine. I had to restart my phone for the device to be found again. I think it may be futile however I'm going to try Fitbit support and see what happens otherwise this is going back.

Same here. Worked for a couple days then stopped again. It's a pain and their support isn't helpful. They jump to blaming your phone too quickly.  If only some phones are truly compatible, they should have made that more clear on the packaging and in the Google App store.

I ended up having the same trouble again. Regarding it being carrier specific as someone mentioned earlier, I've confirmed that it doesn't seem to be the case by testing with other rooted Android devices with vanilla Android that have worked well in the past with other brands of Bluetooth trackers. Same issue. I tested with Samsung Galaxy S8+, Note 2, Note 4, and an LG V10 all running Android Marshmallow or newer (Pie in the case of the S8+).

This is an app issue specific to Fitbit and how it interacts with Bluetooth on Android. It isn't unique to the Versa line, though with my Flex, Blaze, and Surge it eventually resolved after enough tinkering. I can't seem to find the happy fix for the Versa 2, though I'd imagine with Google's recent acquisition of Fitbit, we might see some effective code revisions in the near future that fix the app.

If I clear out my phone's bluetooth cache religiously every 2 days, I've been able to get it to sync on a regular basis. So I am somewhat sure that it is not a Versa 2 issue. Because it happens with my wife's Blaze as well and we both have LG G6 phones. So my theory is that the handshake does not happen efficiently between the firmwares of the communicating devices. But I agree, it is painful to keep doing that

I randomly got a Versa 2 firmware update tonight. I'm now running 35.70.7.21. I do not know yet whether or not there has been an improvement. Anybody else have luck with the update?

I'm coming up on 8 full days now with no syncing issues and no 'no device found' errors! This is by far the longest stretch without any issues since I got my Versa 2. The longest period previously was roughly 3.5 days where I would experience no device found or syncing issues.

After my last post on Feb 4th, 2020 I reached out to Fitbit support the same morning. I pointed them at this thread to review the issue I was experiencing. Fitbit support then walked me through some steps, most of which I had previously completed. The one thing I had not tried in the past was removing MobileTrack in the Fitbit app. This is apparently recommended by Fitbit as it might affect or interfere with the syncing of your Fitbit device in the Fitbit app.

MobileTrack lets you use the Fitbit app without a Fitbit device by using your phone's sensors to track basic activity data including steps, distance, and calories burned. Note that MobileTrack does not track floors, sleep, or active minutes.

So here are the exact steps I went through with Fitbit support:

  1. Confirmed phone's location services is turned on. (If not, turn it on)
  2. If logged in to the Fitbit account on the Fitbit app, log out and force stop or close the Fitbit app.
  3. Next, remove Fitbit Versa 2 on your phone's Bluetooth settings from being connected.
  4. Then, uninstall the Fitbit app and reinstall it.
  5. Once reinstalled, make sure your phone's Bluetooth is on and open the Fitbit app and log back in to your account.
  6. Once logged in, tap the Account icon at the top left corner and tap Set up a Device. Choose Versa 2 and follow the onscreen instructions to continue.
  7. When prompted to pair your Versa 2 on your phone's Bluetooth please do so.
  8. In the Fitbit app under your account, go to Devices, select MobileTrack and unpair to remove it.

That's it, since then I've had no syncing issues or 'no device found'! I'm hopeful that removing MobileTrack did the trick and the issue doesn't reoccur.

Also just an FYI that my Versa 2 firmware version is also at 35.70.7.21.

My new versa 2 only shows 3 stats out of 7. I have tried everything. Also, when I sync the versa 2, it says device not found. Anything you can do? I've tried everything

Thanks.

Nothing worked. I decided to return my Versa 2. Fitbit has an issue with how the app works on android. According to their requirements for you to use the Versa 2, you have disconnect all bluetooth devices from your phone. That makes no sense and is so primitive. so for eg: if you're going to the gym with your phone connected to your bluetooth headphones then you have to disconnect that for continuous syncing of the versa 2. pathetic. so i returned it and got a samsung galaxy watch. no issues whatsoever
