Versa 2 not syncing consistently

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I had Fitbit Chrage and Fitbit Blaze and I was very happy with them.

I recently bought Versa 2 and I don't intent do to keep it. A complete disappointment.

Synchronising the device and watch is always an issue, even after software updates, reinstallation, and factory defaults. Whenever I initatiate synchronising manually the water consumption log goes wired... giving me values like 14,786.8 ml.

Not least frustrating is the technical support. They just don't have technical knowledge of the product.

I am done with Fitbit.

I agree. I got mine for Christmas. It worked the first 3 weeks. Now it only does about 1/3 of what it did. No longer tracks my sleep. I no longer receive notification, etc. Not happy!!!

Does anyone have experience with Fitbit support?

I have Versa 2 watch with synchronisation issues and made several attempts to contact their technical support team. I regret to say that my experience with them feels like a delayed correspondence course with an incompetent team. A real shame because I won't buy from Fitbit again.

Have you had similar experience?

Hi @shimonv  and @hawsme

Sometimes it's a simple matter of doing a restart of the Fitbit. The more information you share, the better to assist you. Which phone do you have and is it on the list of compatible devices? click to see.

I have the Android 7.0

When I purchased the Versa 2 they said it was compatible. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. The last 3 days it has not worked.

I also have Android 7.0.

I reset the Watch firmware and upgraded to the latest firmware.

I removed and reinstalled the most current Fitbit app.

It still behaves erratically - the synchronisation is not consistant and there is this odd bug with the logging of water water consumption. And as I mentioned earlier, their tech support is ridiculous.

Yes!!! They tell me the same thing over and over again. I've done every thing they've asked me to do. Still does not work.

I think we can both work there as senior support specialist 😊

It's not okay to say that Versa 2 is compatible with Android 7.0, and it's inexcusable to have such incompetent tech support team. I very much doubt their ability to detect and escalate issues to the development team. I am not exaggerating.

Shame.

Hi @shimonv and @hawsme. Welcome to the Community Forums. @Odyssey13, thanks for stopping by to help our members. I'm sorry for the delayed response.

@shimonv and @hawsme, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback about your Versa 2, and I apologize for the experienced that you've had with our Support team. I understand how you're feeling since your watches aren't syncing correctly and I appreciate the steps tried on your own. As with any other app, the Fitbit app was optimized to work with certain phones and tablets based on their own requirements and the OS version. Although the Fitbit app supports Android 7.0 or higher, we recommend to use a phone that appears in the compatible devices list to ensure that all the features, such as syncing or notifications, will always work as intended and not sporadically.

That said and since you posts didn't mention, please confirm if you've tried the troubleshooting steps described in our help site for syncing and notifications issues. Also, let me know the model of your phones and the error message displayed when trying to sync so I can further investigate.

I look forward to your reply.

Hi Lizzy,

I did try troubleshooting steps. I have Galaxy S6 with Android 7.0.

I have the current firmware on my watch and was using the most current version of the Fitbit app (I recently removed it because of my frustration with its performance).
There were two issue that encourntered:

1. Water consumption log - I was logging water interchangeably through the watch and mobile app. Desipite my efforts, often after synching the last entry for the water consumption was changed from the original value to some odd number, e.g. from 250 to 7,393.38.

2. Automatic synching does not work automatically in a consistent manner; sometimes it only works manually and sometimes I doesn't work.

It seems like a bug or compatibility issue. I rest the firmware for the watch, removed and reinstalled the mobile app without a change.

Just so you know, before Versa 2 I had Blaze and before that Charge and had not problem with them.
