Versa not receiving texts since last update

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Versa is not receiving text messages since the update that went out last week. I still get call notifications. Tried all the normal stuff reboot phone and watch turn notifications off and Bluetooth off and on. I deleted Fitbit app and reinstalled it and then text worked for like 12 hrs. If you guys could roll back the update that caused this it would be most appreciated. Getting work texts on my watch was one of the main reasons I bought the Versa.

Hi @ErickVonB. Welcome! It's nice to see a new face around.

Thanks for the troubleshooting steps that you've tried on your own. I understand how you're feeling about the notifications feature not working correctly and while the firmware update cannot be rolled back, there are some steps that we can try together. Before anything else, could you please provide me with your phone's model and Android version? Also, let me know the name of the messaging app you're using to receive text notifications.

In the meantime, try the following in the given order:

  1. Remove the Versa from the Bluetooth settings.
  2. Turn off other Bluetooth connections nearby just for this process.
  3. On your phone's settings, tap on Apps > Fitbit > Storage > Clear Cache.
  4. Go back one screen, tap on force stop and reboot your phone one more time.
  5. Set up your Versa as a new device.
  6. Once the process is completed, set the notifications and test your Versa.

I'll be around, keep me posted!

I'm using a MotoZ2 running Android 9.Idid all of the things you suggested,
still not right. What I have noticed is that if I restart the phone
everything works fine for like an hour or 2, but I never had to do this
before last week's update. Is there a way for me to download old version of
the app and just turn off the automatic update?

Hi @ErickVonB. Thanks for getting back and I'm sorry for my delay.

I appreciate you for trying the steps posted above, as well for the information provided. As with any other app, Fitbit optimized the Fitbit app to work with certain models and currently your Motorola Moto Z2 isn't part of the compatible devices listYour phone might have fulfilled the minimum requirements (Android 7.0 or higher and Bluetooth 4.0) and this should be the reason why it was working before, however we cannot guarantee that it'll always work. While there isn't an option to return back to the previous Fitbit app version, let me suggest to try using a compatible device so we can determine if this issue is related with your phone's model or your watch. Our team will work hard to include more devices to the list based on your feedback.

I'll be around.
