It states the sync error with the Versa has been addressed, but my device is still showing the same error. It hadn't synced to my phone in over 24 hours now...what's the fix?

I faced the same problem with my new fitbit versa. It was detected and
installed but refused to sync. This was solved by factory resetting my
phone Honour View 10 runs Android 8.0

For how long has it been syncing now? I also have the Honor View 10, but every few days I need to reconnect the phone to the watch.

It synced alright for a few hours but is refusing to sync now. I think I will have to take Fitbit to court for providing a buggy watch and a **ahem**ty software

My Versa has finally started syncing with my phone Honour View 10 on daily basis. I downloaded the Fitbit App Version 2.73 from the net. (Playstore one was not working). Install app in phone. Reset Versa from settings in the watch and then do a fresh syncing with the phone. Mine started working but stops syincing when the Versa is taken out of the range of the phone for a prolonged period. What I have notice is that after some time the Versa starts shows up as a paired device in bluetooth settings. Unpair the same and it disappears. After doing this restart the phone and try syncing. It works for me. Fitbit should do something to remedy this problem.

Maybe there is some problem with the device. I had faced the same problem for some time. I downloaded the latest app and installed the versa after resetting it. It is syncing now on daily basis. But I have to keep on unpairing the Versa in bluetooth devices and restarting the phone. I have to do this whenever my versa is out of the phone's range for a prolonged time.

As some others have stated i tried all the fixes for LGG6 restarting bluetooth and restarting the phone and resetting the fitbit ... none fixed the issue ... i did see in the bluetooth settings it showed my versa as paired to the phone ... once i unpaired and restarted the phone it fixed the issue takes a minute for everything to sync but work around is working problem is it chooses to do this periodically i'm so far able to keep it running but once a day i'm un pairing the phone from the versa and restarting the phone ...

I have the same issue unfortunately, its not the 1st time nor 5th time. Its been a daily pain in the a** trying to sync my LG G6 with my versa. Inspite of restarting the phone, the watch, the app... Man! Do I have to do this every time I want to sync my versa? I took me an hour or more just to sync this thing. Its not acceptable FITBIT!!!!! You cannot tell me that my bluetooth is the problem. I can sync my other smartwatch, my BT headphone, my computer without any hassle. And your VERSA is just a freaking pain in the A*S! I wish I can return this garbage!

Yes, I am extremely frustrated too.
My Versa is less than a month old and it hasn't paired more often than it has. I have tried re setting and restarting and turning on and off every device, phone, computer, watch etc. Nothing works!!!
I have wasted a lot of time trying to get this thing to work right and STILL it does not!!!!!!!!

The below is from help.fitbit.com which I am currently testing on my phone.
WHY DOES THE FITBIT APP NEED TO RUN IN THE BACKGROUND ON MY ANDROID PHONE?

If the Fitbit app doesn’t run in the background, you may notice issues with app features, such as:
