Weight data history and trends not available after 4.30

ANSWERED

With the installation of this new update, why is all history being either deleted or not displayed? For example I am a 9-year Fitbit member and my weight data is no longer available prior to the last 2 years. I enjoy looking at trends seeing where I've been and where I am at. But this information is no longer displayed when changing time ranges.

I have kept weight data with Fitbit on Android since 12/25/2013. As well as a lot of other data. The last update deleted all weight data prior to 1/1/2016! The biggest reason I have kept Fitbit all these years is due to the immense data history that I have in weight, and steps. The steps are still there since 12/25/2013 but the weight is gone! Even if I go back year by year it's gone. If I go into all time it says it's showing back to Jan 2016 but it's only showing 2017 data.

When will ALL the DATA be put back? Ever? Is this a permanent deletion? Has Google decided that it's only going to maintain data for 10 years from now on. If so I'll download as much raw data as it will let me and hire someone to import it into a spreadsheet before they make more of it inaccessible or worse delete it.

Please tell us this is a glitch that will be fixed.

I tried a export and download as per another thread but have not been able to find the weight data in it anywhere

Not resolved as of 22 Jan 25. Do we have an ETA?

It's actually been more than two months now that weight data display was simplified to one data point per year (just the average weight for an entire year and no trend line).  I'm pretty sure Google has no intention of  going back to the way weight data/trends were previously displayed.

I'm so tired of Google breaking app functionality and then not giving any information for weeks, if not months (or at all). As soon as I can afford it, I will be looking at getting out of this ecosystem. They are betraying their users with bad app dev choices after taking in rather a lot of cash.

Any news on a resolution to this issue? I have 10 years of data that has now disappeared. I can see several users discussing this but no answers, I have spoken on chat and been told history is not available now due to update, I'm very much hoping this can be fixed.

This is also happening to me. I have been using the Fitbit app for 14 years and all my weight data is gone except the last year.  Please help me to get this resolved.

It seems my Fitbit weight data is back. 🥳
But there's no weight data synced to my Google Fit now. 🤷

Yes, mine appears to be back too.  It took some scrolling past 3 years, but it seems to be there.  The "all time"  graph shows only one point per year, but I have the individual data points in the list below back to 2016 so far.  Fitbit, please give us an easy way to download our data in a cvs format - I'll back up and graph my data from now on.

A mod removed my posts and combined them here. Now, the people who I was replying directly to won't get a notification that I replied to their comments. It seems that the Google ecosystem is rotten to the core, from its products to its moderation style in forums. Disappointed but not surprised.

This workaround no longer works. I just tried it again, planning to screen shot everything and move my data to a different app, and now when you go to weight>3 dots>Manage Data> all that appears is the option to delete everything. You can no longer "Review Your Data".

THIS IS A DISASTER.

------

Mine is not back. Can you provide a screen shot of what I should be looking for, or describe where I might find it? This is beyond frustrating and infuriating.

------

@LizzyFitbit Kindly provide an update for the absolute pile of garbage this app has turned into. It has been almost two months and NOTHING. This is why people use Apple and Amazon products - because they don't randomly stop working! Get it together!!!

Seems I'm not allowed to post screenshots, but in my fitbit app, there's a navigation bar at the bottom. If I click "Today" on it, it will show me a list of metrics, where one is "Weight". I click that and it shows my history since 2015.

Interesting....doing that for me only brings up the last year, which is what it's been doing since it broke anyway. Maybe an update is coming? I won't hold my breath.

This is the screenshot from this morning. In the app I can scroll down from 2023 to 2016.  (I had data further back but this is a start.)   In each year I can get the list of months and in the months find the individual data points.

I agree 100% with @EmilyJC on this. The "workaround" no longer works and we've had no update from @LizzyFitbit for weeks on any actual fix. I've lost years of important data. I tried Google Takeout and the data is missing there too. To add insult to injury, this serious issue is described in this Community Forum as "Answered!", which it is clearly not.

What's happening, @LizzyFitbit ? Are you there?

It's in Global Export Data but you'll need to use the advice on the previous page to put it into an excel.

Okay, I am on a Chromebook and when I would try to open one of the weight files from the data export, it was, for a reason I can't figure out, opening one of the calorie entries instead. It would open the same calorie file no matter which file in the Global Export folder I clicked. I got around this by copying all the weight files and moving them to a different folder with only those files in it. THEN it would open the correct file.

But, now I have another problem...there are only 43 entries for weight. I weighed myself weekly from 2014 to now... there should be HUNDREDS of entries and there are only 43. So, not even all my data is available in the export. This is so frustrating I can't articulate it. @LizzyFitbit PLEASE update us soon on what is being done to remedy this.

Why would I invest in Fitbits and an Aria scale for 10 years just to have all my data go up in smoke and then no support is offered? I wish I had never used Google products at all.

Agree ... New UI is pretty bad and forces you to see only some info and only the way the Fitbit tabs seems to think we want to view it. On a Monday if I click to see my weight for the past week I want to see the last 7 days and not one useless data point. Please fix!!
