Despite several attempts to set the weight goal to lose weight, the app stubbornly stays at Gain, despite the wizard starting at a lower weight than current. It then flagged all weigh-ins as met goals, which is clearly incorrect.
I'm done with FitBit. They keep messing up simple stuff. How, when even after the Google acquisition, did they keep incompetent people on their development teams, is the eighth wonder of the world.

@SunsetRunner Thanks for your help. Much appreciated!
@SunsetRunner Welcome to the forums. I will gladly help you regarding the weight goal on the Fitbit app.
Please make sure that your Fitbit app is up to date. Please on the Fitbit app try logging out and back into your account and try to edit the goal again. If that does not work, I would delete and reinstall the app. This will not affect your data nor connection, the device remains connected to your account and data is safely stored.
Have a nice day!

Hello @SunsetRunner
Firstly I love your screen name..it made me laugh 🤣 I hope I can help or at least try. Open your Fitbit App and tap your profile picture then scroll down to Activity & Wellness then tap Nutrition & Weight. Look at your starting weight and enter the correct number your currently at. Then tap “your goal” …pick lose, set your desired weight and tap save, you can skip the next step of body fat percentage if you choose. These steps should reflect the weight goals you want now. If your still having trouble maybe log out of the Fitbit App, restart your phone the log back into the Fitbit App. then try setting your desired weight goal again.
Hopefully this will resolve things. Please let me know if I did indeed answer your question
😃 Happy Stepping!

This didn't work for me.
I logged out then back in, didn't work, so I un-installed, then reinstalled, still didn't work. Pretty annoying that one of the main functions of fit bit doesn't work 😅

I know this is a few months old now, but I had the same issue and got it to work (after trying to log out/in and uninstall/reinstall) by pressing the three dots in the upper right corner and then removing the weight/body fat goal. Then it would let me set a new goal without reverting back to "gain" for some reason. Hope that helps!

I spoke with the live chat and they suggested as a short term solution to change this on the web within your dashboard. The solution of restarting/re-installing did nothing for me. But doing the web update changed in the app to LOOSE and not GAIN!
