What does "over budget" mean?

I just started using the fit bit app on android today. When I tap on Food, it says I am over budget. What does that mean? (it either means I need to eat more or I need to burn more, which is it?)

Kind regards,

@xucaen  "over budget" simply means you consumed(logged) more calories than you burned.  Bear in mind that as the day wears on, calories burned will increase.  We burn calories simply existing.  If you happen to log all your food in the morning, it will show over budget, but by the end of the day, provided you didn't over consume, it will more than likely show "under budget" or "in zone".

So to answer your question, if you're "over budget", you need to burn more.
