Whatsapp message and Charge 2

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I am interested in the Charge 2 but don't fully understand the Whatsapp notification facility

Does the Fitbit Charge 2 just show a notification that you have received a Whatsapp message, or does the Fitbit actually show the message and who it was from?

Sorry if this is answered elsewhere but I have not been able to find it anywhere.

Thanks

Hello @Philip22, It's nice to have you here in the Fitbit Community as a new member. When you set up Whatsapp as the app to received  notifications, a pop up message will appear and will ask you if you want to see sender's name and Message or only the message.

So if you were wondering how this works, rest assure it will depend in how you choose to received the notifications.

Catch ya later and keep me posted if you have more questions.

It's a misleading reply when you know that theres no way charge 2 can provide any sort of whatsapp notification on iphone.

Its very likely that those who asked are using iphone. So why not make a statement that it doestn work with iphone before answering.

Hello @JuliusNotCaesar, good to see you around. You are right and my apologies for not bring this to the topic, since with iOS the way it works is different.

However I did not mentioned this since this is a dedicated board for the Android App which allows to received text notifications from Whatsapp. With iOS the only tracker capable to received this type of notifications is the Fitbit Blaze. For more details or to post your concerns for more help please feel free to visit the iOS board.

See you around!

To be honest, I am quite disappointed to your company. Smartband/watch is a growing trend and fitbit is almost top 5 in the market but the ways of dealing with complaints are still like ****.

Iphone occupies a large portion of smartphone market and fitbit just ignores the fact. xiaomi band 2 is able to send whatsapp/snapchat notification to iphone but it just cost USD30! Are you kidding me?

Hello @fredolin, nice to see you again and my apologies for the late response. Yes it is possible to received Whatsapp notifications in your Charge 2. You just need to change the defaults text messages service to Whatsapp in your notification settings. Note that this is only available for Android devices.

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Account iconUser-added image
  2. Tap Notifications.
  3. Tap the type of notification you'd like to receive
  4. Choose which apps can send notifications to your Fitbit device. (You can only choose one app per category.)

Hope this helps. Stick around if you have other questions.
