Why doesn't my Fitbit count steps on the treadmill

Just got my Fitbit today and I am replacing a vivofit that bit the dust... With that being said I bit the bullet and spent the extra money and got the Fitbit and I already don't like it 😕... Screen only stay on a millisecond....Any suggestions

@Chspencer, I don't have any suggestions for the screen only staying on for a millisecond, though I have never timed it to that level.  There are a number of suggestions in the Feature Suggestions Forum to add features to extend the display on time - you may want to visit that forum and vote for one or more of the suggestions.

 

As for not counting steps on the treadmill, that is most commonly caused by holding onto the side rails, and not allowing the arms to swing freely. You don't say which Fitbit you have, but if it is a wrist-worn one, it counts steps by arm movement.
