Widget showing "launch the app to update activity data"

Same issue with my Google Pixel 3aXL.  I use the Nova 7 launcher and I thought that was the issue so I went back to the pixel launcher with no resolve.  I even factory reset my phone and that didn't help.  I have an old Samsung 5 laying around so I downloaded the Fitbit app on that phone and the widget actually worked so the problem is definitely related to newer devices/operation systems.

I'm having this same problem on my Sony Xperia 5 II. I've even tried uninstalling the app app completely and reinstalling it, but nothing is working

I have a Google pixel 3a and just all at once widget stopped syncing with my app. Right after my phone did an auto update 🤷🏻‍:female_sign: any ideas?

Also having this same issue for a week or 2 after an upgrade to an Android 11 phone.  Looking for an update as well.
