I just got a Motorola Moto G4 4th gen today an am rather disappointed to find my Fitbit Charge 2 isn't compatible with it and won't sync. Are there any plans to update Fitbit to be compatible with new phones that aren't made by Samsung or Apple?! Many thanks.

It's great to see you around @Mirily. Regarding to your question, our team is hard working in testing the compatibility of several phones. I recommend keeping an eye on our list of compatible mobile devices for any update.
Catch you later.

@MirilyMany of us have Android Phones that aren't on the compatibility list and work perfectly with our Fitbits.
My earlier Sony phone gave me no end of issues on Android V4 and V5..Notifications, syncing etc.. After posting the question in these Forums I was helped by a Fitbitter in Norway who had the latest Sony Phone at the time with Android V6.0. He was having no problems.
In Australia, Sony then released the next level Phone and it was Android V7.0 and I haven't looked back. That is about 6 months now and when I pair any of my Fitbits the system works..
Doesn't help you at the moment and I notice you have tried the tips topic, so you have nothing to lose if you reply to @evilneoprincess because they should get an email from this post.

@Mirily my phone has been working with my Moto G4. I have been able to sync and receive my text/call/calendar notifications. Are you using the latest version of the Fitbit app? Our phone has not received security/OS updates in a LONG time but are you running the latest of that as well? Finally, do you have app notifications turned on? I also have the app enabled in the notification tray and have always connected enabled. I recently reenabled auto heart rate so that I could receive my reminders to move (hopefully Fitbit fixes the latest firmware update soon).

Hi there! The phone was brand new out of the box yesterday and it did update last night. I downloaded the Fitbit app yesterday too so I'm assuming that would be the latest version on the store? I have all the things enabled too! My phone just won't find the Fitbit at all! It's a brand new Fitbit Charge 2, the firmware updated last Sunday. I think you must just be lucky! 😃
Thanks for replying 👍

@Mirily, did you restart your phone after you downloaded the new Fitbit app? That should be done. In the Fitbit app, open the Account page and select Help to display what version of the app you have - it should be version 2.43. In the app Device settings for Notifications, ensure you have Enable Notification Widget turned on. Also, in the phone settings ensure you have Location Services enabled.

Hiya, it's that version of the app and both those things are enabled. Phone has been switched off and on. It still won't work!
Many thanks 😃

@Mirily Even with my success with the Sony I have to turn WiFi off. It dawned on me just now because I turned WiFi on to allow 18 apps to update and forgot to turn it off this morning.
Result. Fitbit just continues trying to sync and you eventually get the !.
The settings that @USAF-Larry and @evilneoprincess have posted are vital. Thanks for the input.

Does the WiFi affect the Bluetooth? That's something I haven't tried yet! Will give it a go, thanks! 👍

@Mirily, in many phones the WiFi and Bluetooth conflict with each other. This has been reported mostly with Samsung phones, but others have the same problem. Some phones use the same antenna for the WiFi and Bluetooth, which causes some of the conflict.

I haven't synced it with my laptop yet but it works fine with my iPhone 5s. It looks for the tracker and then comes up with an error message in a small black banner saying tracker not found.

Have you tried unpairing it with the iPhone before pairing it with the Moto G4? There may be a conflict if it is already paired to another device. Also, is the iPhone far enough away to not interfere with the Moto G4? It should work with the Moto G4.

@MirilyI realize these questions are basic but what tracker are you trying to sync. ?
Also, if you tap you Bluetooth Icon in your phone settings does it show the paired devices..?
I renamed mine link to the model Fitbit because I have multiple, same model Fitbits..... I have Bluetooth hearing aids.... plus Polar etc..

@Colinm39, remember that if the Fitbit tracker is connected to the Bluetooth on one device, it cannot connect to the Bluetooth to sync on another device - it will be shown as busy.

There hasn't been any devices showing on the list at all!
