Hi there I just purchased my fitbit today and can't find the answer to this anywhere..do I have to have my phone turned on all the time for my fitbit to record information and send it to the app or can I shut my phone off like I normally do at night and have my fitbit still track my sleep etc.

You only need your phone on in order to sync the data from your fitbit to the app and dashboard. It will quite happily track your activity and sleep on its own and can go up to 7 days between syncs.

Sooo..Is that a yes or a no? You didn’t answer their question LOL . Because I do as well like to turn my phone off every now and then they are not meant to be on 24/7. It’s hard on the phone and the battery and the device won’t last as long.

ok. Let me try to answer it again.

You do need your phone on to sync your fitbit to the app.
I am finding, however, that when I turn my phone off for the night, my watch loses time. When I turn on my phone in the morning, and my watch syncs, the time corrects itself, but I find this very annoying. I can't trust the time on my watch when my phone is not on. This is not functioning as a proper watch.
Best Answersame! And my versa is up to date software wise. It syncs all day, the minute I turn off my phone the clock function starts not working. This happens whether I have used the OG clock face or a new one. This is frustrating.
