Hello @dorst622.
As you mentioned, the Xiaomi Mi8 is not in the supported devices list. This means that the app has not been fully optimized to work with that phone.
Keep in mind that while the app can work as long as the phone meets the minimum requirements, Android 4.4+ and Bluetooth 4.0, there is a possibility that some issues will happen. Some users of phones not on that list have mentioned that going through these troubleshooting steps helped them, so it's definitely worth a try.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

Hello @dorst622.
At this time we do not have any ETA that we could share on when we can expect that phone to be added to the list. Having said that, maybe you could try to sync with another device, like a computer. You can read more on how to sync with different devices by clicking here.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

When will the mi 8 be fully supported? This is a flagship phone from Xiaomi so it's kind of baffling why you have not rolled out full support for it yet? I bought a brand new charge 3 and the notifications do not work at all.

Welcome to the Forums @metamode.
As indicated above, we do not have any updates on the situation. Perhaps you could post about it in our Feature Suggestions board, at the moment we do not have any suggestions to include that phone. That way other users can comment and vote on the suggestion to show their support for the idea. If you decide to do so, be sure to read the FAQ to better understand how that board works.
Let me know if there is anything else you need assistance with.

My Charge 2 stopped working on my mi8 suddenly.
Was fine until last week (Dec 13), when it wouldn't sync anymore the next day. Removed and tried to add it back, but keep getting bluetooth issues.

Welcome to the Forums @sooth.
Let me try and help you get your Fitbit to work again.
Did you have the chance to try the steps I mentioned above? If that doesn't work you could try to use a computer or another mobile device to try and sync your Fitbit to your account. Click here to get instructions on how to sync with other devices.

Hello,
I am having the same problem with my Xiaomi mi 8 and my charge 2. It synced perfectly for 4 months until last Fitbit application update the 18/12/2019. Since then I also had problems pairing with an Asus Zen phone 3, my previous phone which never had a problem in almost 2 years.
Very displeased, Bluetooth is a pretty standard technology within Android and shouldn't cause this kind of issues for a company that has wearable as its core business.
Regards,

Welcome to the Forums @DavideSt.
Thanks for sharing your feedback.
As mentioned before, as long as the minimum requirements are met, Android 4.4+ and Bluetooth 4.0, it is possible that it could work. The main differences and optimization issues might come from software differences on the specific phone.
Be sure to try the steps I mentioned above as there is a possibility that it could work.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

Hi all,
I got my ionic able to sync again. For some reason it didn't work for a while even for computer sync.
This is what I did.
Removed ionic from phone Bluetooth
Removed ionic from fitbit app
Ionic do a factory reset.
Add ionic back to fitbit app. And it works after that.
And yes I update the firmware after it is able to sync back. Now it sync much faster with the latest version
Hope these steps could help you.

Thanks, but I've already passed my device to my dad as it syncs on his phone.
So, I'm unable to confirm if it works for me.

It's a bit of a cop out to repeat that the Xiaomi Mi 8 isn't on the supported devices list, as it SHOULD be on the supported devices list.
It's a flagship phone with a Snapdragon 845 processor.
Then to say try it on another device is just a joke.
It's a pity Fitbit doesn't worry about its aftercare as much as its sales.

I bought my Xiaomi mi8 in october 2018. I was using fitbit charge HR back then, and it perfectly synced. I got a fitbit charge 3 in January 2019 and it also perfectly synced with my xiaomi mi8 until Friday, May 3rd, 2019. I have no idea why my charge 3 isn't syncing now. There has been multiple updates on both devices i.e., my phone and fitbit but nothing happened. Why would this sudden hiccup happen, I have no idea! I have gone through ALL possible troubleshooting steps available on the net but with no help! This is truly frustrating! Why would such a popular brand like fitbit be so not universal in terms of interoperability and compatibility? Also how about ensuring a minimum level of reliability and robustness?

I have a Xiaomi 8 lite, syncing works perfectly but the notifications on the phone says the notification service not running. I think it's the fitbit app and my phone but can anybody with a xiaomi phone help me to solve this problem? I have MIUI 10.3.5. I did everything I could from resetting the my versa 2 and redownloading the fit it app, enabling all my Notifications and allowing it to play in the background, I also enable no restrictions for battery saver. What should I do? I feel like notifications should work no matter the phone.

Sadly, Fitbit's level of support for non-mainstream devices is somewhat lax.
I've been waiting a year or so and still no support for notifications. I guess at least the syncing kinda works now...

It's been over a year since we've been told this issue would be fixed?
When will the xiamoi mi 8 be compatible with Fitbits? I would like to purchase the new versa 2 yet I don't know if it will be compatible!

All, I solved the notification issue with my Xiaomi Mi 8 and Versa 2.
The reason of the problem is due to the phone's battery optimisation. So you need to disable them for the Fitbit app.
1. On your Xiaomi phone, go to Settings and find Autostart, find the Fitbit app and make sure it's turned on.
2. On your Xiaomi phone, go to Settings and find Battery Optimisation and choose App battery saver, find the Fitbit app and set it to No restrictions
3. Reboot your phone
Now notifications should work. Tested on my Xiaomi Mi 8 running MIUI Global 11.0.6.
