Did the option to set and track a custom target heart rate zone end with the recent android app update?  I like to use a different range to track HR for zone 2 cardio and used to like seeing that in addition to the low/moderate/peak fitbit data

@jdiritto  I moved your post to the Android app forum, a better fit for your question.  I hope you get an answer here.

Hello @jdiritto

The ability to set a custom heart rate is still available in the updated Fitbit app:

  • Tap on your picture/icon in the upper right of the Today page
  • Tap on Fitbit settings
  • Tap on Activity & Wellness
  • Tap on Heart Settings
  • Tap on Heart Rate Zones under Exercise
  • On this page, you can set your custom heart rate zone

Thanks!  I see my custom zones are still set, which is good, but when I click on exercise activity details, all it shows under time in each zone are peak, vigorous, moderate and light zones as auto defined by fitbit where it used to show time spent in my custom zone as well as the predefined categories....

@jdiritto upon updating the app Fitbit excluded time in custom HR zone during exercise making it useless. Nothing can be done until Fitbit will correct it (and whether it will or not, nobody knows).

Figures....hopefully they see this and it's a simple enough fix to happen sooner rather than later

Hi @jdiritto

The best place to make sure developers see this feature request is to submit it in the Product Feedback forum (<-- click link). No doubt, there are other users who use custom heart rates and want their exercise graphs to show their activity in those zones, like it used to.

From what I understand, the developers visit the Product Feedback forum to see what features are being requested and how popular that feature is.

If you submit your request, please consider replying to this post with a link so others can add their votes & comments.

Good to know, thanks again.  The share feedback page doesn't function for me though; the submit and continue link button to accept the Product Feedback Policy doesn't load anything; the HTML looks bad for the page as evidenced by the visible code that fails to differentiate the format of the heading..

@jdiritto   I set a custom heart rate on my iOS app to see if I got the same result as you.  I did.  I'm hoping this is an unintended consequence of the redesigned Fitbit app.  I'm going to notify a moderator to pass this to the design teams.

Awesome... I liked seeing how long and close I was to the top end of my zone 2 when I do longevity/recovery work in addition to the preset zones
