Yes, I followed those steps.  I finally got my friend added, but I had to try all 3 methods several times.  I did nothing different, but it finally worked.

For me, there is no error, just a blank page when I go to connect with facebook. Sometimes it works, and goes further and doesn't find any friends (which itself is weird because my gf has a fitbit account, and is on my facebook so ???) and other times it looks like the login bugged out but no error message

Hello,Just to advise....I am also a customer and when I posted, I was having problems as well and I posted to get a response from Fitbit, which I never did.  I am advising because I have received several post advising of problems.Sent via the Samsung Galaxy Note9, an AT&T 5G Evolution capable smartphone

In the username section I provided the username , this gave following error

Failed to send Friend request
[ERROR 404] [URL https://android-cdn-api.fitbit.com/1.1/user/-/friends/invitations]

this seems really unprofessional to provide 404 to a user

Are you expecting people are developers here Shameful from fitbit

I also get same error when trying to send friend request via email. The recipient had shared her email for support and accountability. I was told

(by FitBit) there was no fix in the foreseeable future which was kind of disappointing. What to do?😊🤷‍:female_sign:

Hey hun so sorry to jump in on this but has there been any update as to why people can't seem to add friends?

I cant seem to add via any platform whatsoever and can't see any of my friends via the Facebook section either even though I have friends registered xx

The last response I got from FitBit, there were no resolutions and no fix in the immediate future.

I'm having to get peeps to add me via email now.I've gone from Samsung active watch to fitbit because not alot of my health apps link to the active watch but they do fitbit - wish I hadn't bothered now because the fitbit isn't that great tbh - my notifications for messages are rubbish and that's all I get I can't get emails etc either! Thinking of sending it back and getting the new active watch instead xSent from Samsung Mobile on O2

I'm in the same boat. I talked with the fitbit chat, and was told it would be sent up the chain. Just got an email that says:

We apologize for the delay. Due to unexpected case volume, we're working as quickly as possible to respond.

Thanks for letting us know about this issue. We’re aware of it, but may not be able to provide a fix in the immediate future. We'll continue to monitor the situation, and keep our team informed of the impact to you and other customers. We understand that this isn't the resolution you're hoping for, but rest assured we're always working to improve our products.

We're sorry for any trouble. We appreciate your patience and look forward to getting you back on track.

I just ran into this same issue. How is it possible that after 2 years nothing has been done to fix it? A widespread issue like this should spawn an internal P0 ticket within Fitbit and there should be constant status updates to us customers that are waiting for a fix. This, like so many other issues that apparently haven't been worked on for years, is an embarrassment to Fitbit and seriously lowers user trust.

Sure I was able to work around this using the (outdated) web dashboard, but I shouldn't have to.

Very true and you can not get replacement glass faces either because they
are bevelled glass.
A bit frustrating
