"No network connection" error when trying to login into app

I get this error when I try to login or sign up on Acer tablet with Android 4.2.2 and Fitbit app v. 2.15.1. Tried to restart/reinstall. Don't use any VPN or adblocking services.

Looks like you are simply not connected to the internet, make sure your wifi is on and your router is working.

I am getting fitbit.com is not currently available. My wife is getting same message. Both on wifi, and off.

Why did it let me log in here and not there???

It works for me on other devices (with more recent versions of Android and app), but not on this older tablet.
