This seems to be a recurring theme.
My router is an ASUS RT-AC1750_B1.
My wireless SSID is set to 2.4ghz
Wireless Mode is set to 'legacy' (for b)
Security mode is WPA2 Personal
Channel set to 11
SSID name alphanumeric only
Turned off the firewall
I have tried to get the scale to connect using the following
MS surface pro 4 (web and 'scale setup' application)
ipad mini
Android Pixel
The scale is within 10ft of my router.
Each time the following happens
I remove the battery for 10 seconds, scale powers on and shows "hi :)" then "v39"
Scale then says 'setup active'
I connect to it
Scale says "networks detected"
I enter the password, hit submit
Scale says "Saving"
Scale says "Joining WiFi"
Router shows a DHCP lease to the scale
Scale says "Linking To"
Scale says "No Sync"
Scale goes back to "Setup Active"
What am i missing here?
Thanks

It is running b
"Wireless Mode is set to 'legacy' (for b)"
What next?
From the forums, it seems like this is a BIG problem. It also seems like part of the reason that the Aria 2 came out. The Aria 2 is the same device, minus this awful pairing method, so rather than fix what was wrong, with their current customers, they fix it and re release the same product as an 'upgrade'
I found an old (very old) Cisco router that has a B only mode, set up a quick network on it, connected it to my newer router and it worked fine. So i can't use this scale with a modern router. I either have to keep a 2nd router plugged in just for this scale, or, find another scale. Not the Aria 2 however considering the issues i had with the Aria 1. Here's a solution at least for those who are still struggling, find an old router and go from there

@reabbott80 It's great to see you in our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear that your Aria scale is not connecting to your network. Thank you by the way, for providing the details of your router and trying the setup process properly.
I'd like you to check one more detail: Please make sure that your router is running the protocol 802.11b. This setting can be reviewed with your Internet service provider. After this try the setup process as described in this help article.
Let me know how it goes!

I got my service provider to fix the setting and then Fitbit support blamed the problem on something else. Get ready for a lot of wasted time and run around. They don't really have a solution and they won't stand behind their product.
